I think I'm going to make a bacon maker out of one of those dryers next time I find one (I see them fairly often at auctions I attend). It shouldn't be to hard to do, but it would need to be converted to 208/230/240V (depending on your US location), in order to get a fast enough element / thoroughly cooked bacon.
Warning: I almost burned my old dorm room down with an "automatic toaster"... and it wasn't even a result of the cooking (stolen conveyor from the eng lab was defective).
