Even this "we'll flag your account" instead of just giving keys to addon authors as they have in the past seems stupid. The only imaginable reason to do it this way is to prevent addon authors from giving away their keys to other people, but that doesn't really make sense when they're giving out keys like candy elsewhere. I've already had two people offer me their
extra beta keys.
Fortunately, the current inability to load custom textures, annoying floating point errors, etc. are a bit of a turn-off as far as development efforts go; I probably won't even bother trying to update any of my addons until things are a bit further along anyway.
