I apologize to mingle myself here; since the minion isn't mine.
But just to be clear :
You had ElvUI installed.
Your WoW was on the latest patch?
You installed the Minion; did it show updates to ElvUI and did you apply said updates to the Addons.
How did you start WoW with Minion installed? Did you start the game via Battle.Net Launcher; via its own icon or via the Minion? (Reason for this question: It may be possible you have multiple wow versions installed, and Minion launched the one without add ons instead of the one you usually launch.)
Minion doesn't touch the state of an add-on in WoW, nor the WoW version itself. It merely fetches a new version of the text and textures in the AddOns folders themselves. However; iirc ElvUI isn't hosted in its full here.
@Dolby: I am merely asking these questions for an interest point-of-view, also my job is support - this is really cool from that side as well. It's quirky. :P
