Like okay, it lost the battle against the "old" Curse, but when Overwolf bought Curse what prevented WoWInterface from jumping on the bandwagon to gain more popularity?

Curse/WowAce had better tooling early on e.g. the
CurseForge packager and localization support. They also have a bigger addon base, support other games like Minecraft and provide the
author reward program.
WoWInterface does not have enough developers to "jump on the bandwagon" and at this point it would be too little too late
