I would suggest you start by following the instructions in this FAQ... it should resolve a lot of your lag issues and give you a stable starting point to work from...

ps. I currently use FuBar, is there a way to integrate it or is it naturally compatible? I haven't seen any problems thus far, but then, I always turn lua errors off @.@ I get so many errors all the time I got tired of clicking off them @.@

You do not have to do anything special... just install FuBar and nUI will detect it. However, I would hold off doing that until you finish the clean install from the above FAQ. I would also recommend that you hold off installing your usual slew of FuBar plugins and wait until you're sure what you actually need.

pps. I was wondering if a bag system like carg bags, arkinventory, or, better yet, a combo of those two could be implemented directly into nUI?

There is no bag system built into nUI, however it is compatible with most bag mods such as ArkInventory and BagNon. There is also a slash command, '/nui onebag' which will alter nUI's bag bar to only show the single backback button for use with bag mods such as this.
