Want to make sure there safe, sit next to them when there playing? Like all good moms or dads should be doing with grown up games.

I think some people need to learn that there is a time and place for everything and to respect other people when talking with them. There is a profanity filter in-game, which the OP can turn on (if it's not on already), but it has been said time and time again, even by blues, that the filter is not an excuse for swearing. The ToS/EULA states that foul language does not have a place in the game.

Now, if you're in a party or a private channel, or your guild channel with other people you are comfortable with and whom you know are fine with your language choices, then go right ahead. But in public channels like say or trade, or in pugs, it's not. It really isn't. It works the same way as in real life. Internet anonymity is what makes people's social skills go down the toilet.

And verbal harassment is outlined specifically in the TOS/EULA, which you agree to on every patch. It doesn't matter if you have a bad day or not, if you think they're an adult or not, or if you feel you shouldn't have to censor yourself. If you disrespect people, harass them, and break the rules, then you have no place crying when you get in trouble.

Also keep in mind that you can remove chat channels from chat tabs, pretty much customize what you see. In theory, you can make it as difficult as possible to see chat outside of one's local area if abuse from these sources is a problem.

Sadly, abuse can happen anywhere and at any time via almost any avenue. There's no substitute for supervision. The best way to supervise, IMHO, is to have two accounts/PCs and play together, helping each other out. No need for chat software/headphones if you're next to each other at home etc.
