Viewing Dots and my own buffs

I have always used xperl with nui so I never needed to figure this stuff out until wow 4. Now xperl doesn't work so I would like to be able to see dots on my target and my own buffs (all of my buffs not just the weird ones wow thought I should see in their little buff box thingie)!

I did try and go through all the slash command info I had and read a few pages of this thread but I haven't seen anything with a suggestion on how I can toggle this to be viewed or if its even an option.

Thanks so much for the time reading!

If you have the HUD turned on, your DOTs on the current target will appear in the bottom center of the HUD as a bar of icons with timers... your buffs appear on the left side of the UI.

if you have the HUD turned off, try using the 'SimpleHUD' mode -- that will give you the buffs, debuffs, HOTS/DOTS and cooldowns without all of the health bars.
