Who would pay?

I'm totally willing to pay for some "official" MazzleUI updates.

Is Mazzle still "seriously" accepting donations to 'work on/update' the project?
Or has the good ol' mazz stopped production, working part-time as a UI trouble shooter now?

To my knowledge... he/she has stopped. Gone to LOTRO if I am not mistaken.

tbh he doesnt need to bother with a update pack since he released the core you can pretty much have a fully working upto date version.

if he ever releases the right for another to put it out as a package , youd have one already

No there is nothing stopping a full update. Just run WAU. The only thing being stopped right now is complete package including all the addons. And if you read through the forums. It's really not Mazzle that's stopping it either. Mazzle doesn't have the intellectual rights to the mods included here, so it's also a matter of the other authors allowing you to distribute their work as well.
