Minimap node discriptions

1. Clarification on gathering nodes: Are nodes shared i.e. one mining node in icecrown can spawn saronite/rich saronite/titanium at random or are they all separate?

2. If they are not separate, is there anyway i can get my minimap to display which node is what without having to hover over it?

They are seperate, mostly.
And no, you can't alter or modify the nodes.

Ah ok, so an addon like gatherer would be fairly affective in accuracy. Since I remember back i BC about 20% of nodes were shared. But it was shared between rich and normal adamantite.
