Back to basics
this whole thing is new to me and I have no idea where to start. I don't know how to find my world of warcraft file to place my addon into on my new computer with windows 7 it is totally different.

The default location under Windows 7 is C:\Users\Public\Games\World of Warcraft\Interface\Addons
If you unzip your addons to this location, you should be good to go.
You can also right-click your WoW desktop icon and select "Open File Location". This will take you to the base folder for WoW.
