Minion installing Addons I don't use - Page 2

I also had this happen. I somehow got Gatherer, Gatherer_HUD, ACE 2, and MasrimPlayer. I don't use any of those addons.... haven't ever used those addons... They show up in my interface folder but not in Minion.

I'm having this happen, too, but so far only 2 have sneaked in. Afterlife Crowd Control (which I saw someone mention was mistaken identity for Addon Control Panel, which I have) and Classic Deathknight Frames. I've used Afterlife before, but not Classic DK. They don't show up on Minion's list, though.

I've been able to replicate this as well and it definitely seems a case of mis-identification of either the core addon or any "children" that addon may contain (for example modules for let's say BigWigs). A close match identification popup at the start, might be a good idea indeed.

This is an important one. It brings up Pitbull4 in the menu, which I know Pitbull4 isn't on the site at all, which made me wonder. So I tested and it's downloading Stuff unitframes in it's place. Those two words don't even SOUND the same. I'm lost. I also got an Ace2 folder with that that must have been WAY old because in my addon list it said incompatible.

Edit: Ace2 was also installed along with the update to Ace3

And FuBar_FactionsFu.lua is somehow in my base AddOns folder....

For me, this happened on a number of addons.
One of the addons I run is called JumpCounter, a old addon I found on wowace.com a few years ago (do not think its still hosted there) and haven't updated ever since.
Minion thinks that JumpCounter is HAM-counter found here on wowinterface.com

since I am not going to update JumpCounter any time soon (as I have never done it anyway) I can just put it on "ignore permanently" but this might become a problem for other people

Same problem for me:

Afterlife Crowd Control (and yeah, I have ACP installed)
Aura Unit Frames
HealBot
Titan HealBot
Duugu's AH Ignore

And it replaced Fubar Dummy with Fubar, but I expected that - Curse does it too. None of the addons are listed in the log, though: it'd definitely the right log, as the timestamps are up to date, but none of the above mods appear in it anywhere.

It gave me Healbot, Healbot's Titan Panel plugin, TradeskillAdvice, GathererDB_Wowhead, and Ace2. Quite odd.

Can we try to keep all this on the one thread that was asking for this info as shown in the link in my quote, I hate checking two different threads for the same info and the other thread has "offficially" asked for this info

Using the Mac client, it installed Broker_Recount, I'm using the normal Recount though.
Also downgraded a working version of Chatter to a older, non-working one.

Apart from these it's looking really good.

Broker_Recount is a plugin for databrokers such as fubar, and it adds a little show/hide button. Does nothing if you don't have a databroker.

The reason it downgraded is because there is an old non-working version of chatter on this website even though it gets updated on curse. Atleast i think that's why.

Anyways, worst first: Minion trashed my Deadly Boss Mods. I disabled them in Minion (before updating), and now even after uninstalling and re-installing them in Curse, they're broken with a dependency missing. So that's really bad news ...

... one thing that find very annoying is that many of those addons don't even have proper descriptions. I'm using Addon Control Panel to set up my addons in-game but without a proper description, I'd have to search for those addons to figure out what they do. Authors, c'mon! ;-)

[Edit 2: I've now attached a list of the folder contents before I installed/used Minion - maybe this helps debugging]

Deleted them all so cant backtrack which ones they where

I could fix that: Uninstalled DBM in Curse, then looked into my AddOns folder, removed all remaining folders starting with DBM-, and then re-installed DBM. Now there's no missing dependencies anymore, and Curse doesn't complain that it's outdated all the time.

Now me is hahppy ;-)
