Vertical Health/Mana Bar Option: Unit Frame Mod

I'm looking for options on unitframe mods that allow vertical health/mana frames.

I know PitBull and DUF can but both of them have significant (for my purposes) drawbacks. Are there any others (under author support) floating around?

I don't think any other unit frame mods besides duf, pitbull, and this hud on wowace that have vertical health bars. You might be able to make an oUF layout that has vertical bars, but I'm not sure.

Depressing... I could modify the mods to do what I need but it's annoying enough having to deal with the mods you author without trying to remember to hack someone else's mod every time they update it. /sadpanda

I'm just curious. What are some of the downfalls of Pitbull and DUF (for you)?

I don't know who this is directed at, so I'm answering it.

Pitbull - I don't like the options. I can't have text exactly where I want it.
DUF - Doesn't have a couple of features pitbull has, text library is smaller and less customizable as dogtags.

DUF still has a taint issue; it has things I don't need and would love to turn off but it's not modular; while it has a level of configurability that certainly required divine inspiration to create...I'm always wondering from one patch to the next a) if it'll work and b) if it's still going to be supported if it breaks. This is something of an issue b/c while I've taken over mods I want to keep that have fallen out of use (but privately and re-release to the public) I've only got so much free time and that Sword of Damocles is a big turn-off.

Pitbull has a number of issues, some I can live with and some that I'm adapting to out of necessity but still hate nonetheless. The biggest is that the party frames are not independently placable: you place one and the other 3 are stuck to it, which is a bit of a problem if you want to bracket them either side of the target window. Its modularity is great but it's placement options of frames within a unitframe is...also kinda problematic and I miss DUF's control options here more than I can put into words.

That's what I'm doing for WotLK. I'm dumping Mazzle (see Sword of Damocles above) and coding my own backplate-UI, adopting functionality from other mods that I like and dropping the overhead cost since I don't need the massive end-user configuration overhead (gotta love dropping 18k of code for 30 lines). HOWEVER, fun as that has been, a unitframe mod is...not a small, do-it-in-an-evening project

I might wind up doing it eventually if I can't find something that fits my needs but it's not something I contemplate without a fair bit of trepidation.
