Quest Items

I am trying to clean quest items that are in my bags. I vaguely recall an addon that when you moused over a quest item it would show you what it was for. I've tried, but I am not successful. I'd rather not have to open WoWhead and look each item up. Thanks!

Just delete them. If the item is for a quest that's still in your quest log, you'll get a popup dialog telling you that deleting the item will also drop the quest, and asking you to confirm or cancel.

That works, but there are some quest items that are not for a quest in your log. Collection stuff. I just seem to remember an addon that when you moused over a quest item, the tooltip told you what quest it was for.

Maybe I am misremembering and crossing my addons.

I'm pretty sure there was such an addon, at least many years ago, but it would depend on either hardcoded data or recording data while you play, so even if you found it now, it probably wouldn't help you identify items you already got unless it had already been updated for all the WoD quests.
