Quick question about a laptop

I have 3 quick questions about the M15x Alienware laptop
One, I might buy one with this spec, is it good enough to play WoW at 60 fps? except for being in dalaran.
I upgraded the RAM to 4GB.
The LCD Panel to 1920x1080HD
And the Graphics card to the 1GB ATI Radeon Mobility HD 5730.
Should I upgrade the processor? It's at the i3 default. can go up to i7 but costs 1200 more, (no lol maybe later, it can go to the i5 for 200 more dollars)

And when you upgrade the resolution, does it change the size of the m15X (screen size wise)?

Hi Mate

Question 1: Yes, you should be able to reach 60FPS as most places.

Question 2: The resolution has nothing to do with the real size of the screen, depending on your eyes, you might even use a lower resolution since 1920x1080 is going to be *really* small on 15 inches.

Question 3: Personally, for best performance/price take the i5. The i7 would kinda' be a "waste" when looking at the rest of the system. You wont see *that* much gain over the i5 since it depends on the rest of the components too.

I hope that helped you a bit, I can of course have made a mistake and I think others should give their opinion too ^^

Good Luck on your purchase

The i5 will be plenty, since WoW really doesn't do much with the other cores, (unless you run a lot of other software at the same time as Wow).

4GB is great, remember WoW can only access 2GB, it's only 32bit.

I agree on the 1920x1080 at 15 inches, that will be really tight.

But I think this is a good computer for WoW, and anything else you might want to do with it.

Just a correction to the above post, 32-bit software can access 3.25 GB of RAM, not 2 GB.

True for 32bit OS, but in 64 bit OS - 32bit process can allocate up to 4Gb RAM.
WoW barely hardly uses over 1GB anyway.

But WoW can only access 2 GB, this has been stated many times. It was the reason there were problems with the 3.3.5 patch as some people were hitting the 2 GB limit.
