Importing New Button Layouts

I was wondering if it would be possible to import other user created button layouts into MazzleUI. This would allow people to submit their layout and others to simply import them into their list so they're added to the button layout tab during mazzification.

One problem I see here is I think layouts are either aspect ratio specific or resolution specific.

Comments please.

I'd quite like to have a "reserved-for-user" bongo bar that I can put things like a few custom macros that will be excluded from the Mazzify Layout option.

Yes, they are aspect ratio specific.

It is possible to add/create layouts for bongos and mazzleui. However, it's not a simple thing and not something most could do.

On the new bar thing... When I get Bongos3 working w/ mazzleui it'll have the ability to create new bars. The original and mazzle versions of bongos didn't support that at all. Bongos2 did in a way but available bar size was based on the number of bars. Bongos3 allows an arbitrary number of bars of an arbitrary length (within blizzard's limits). Extra fun part of Bongos3 is the buttons are arbitrary action slot IDs and not the fixed ranges used in previous versions.

It's gonna take me some time to get Bongos3 working but it'll be worth the wait.

So do you think my idea can be implemented into MazzleUI? It's mainly over my discontent regarding the MazzleUI hunter layout and the fact that you have to swap pages on the main bar to switch between ranged and melee skills.

The empty spots on my ranged bar appear as blanks (even though there is a skill there) on the melee bar if I swap in combat. I'm trying to figure out which skill goes in the "2" slot of the ranged bar but my hunter is only level 35.

indeed Aimed shot is correct.

I have made my "own" bar in the mazzification but it's for aspect ratio 1.6

and i do have to agree that it is not as easy as it sounds took me a lot of relogs to get it right...

Aimed shot is markmanship only right? See that's really annoying since I'm leveling with BM. Meaning I won't be able to use raptor strike in combat unless I mod the bars.

I am also playing a low level Hunter and I too have found the melee/ranged settings of MazzleUI a little strange to get my head round.

If a mob gets to melee range with us Hunters, I assume we're to Wingclip it then skip back out to ranged combat, yes?. Having to press F, press Wingclip then press F again is something I've not yet got used to.

How do you folks handle it?

At least my main has a functional UI, but my alts I cannot play with since 2.4.

Nibz - I think you meant to put this in the main 2.4 bugfix thread, yes?

I think Bongos3 supports that...

If you read the FAQ, it will explain how the layouts are optimized for level 60 characters. The compromises needed with that many skills are not needed at low levels. You might be better off going with one of the simple layouts during the early levels.
