Wholeheartedly agree. I admire the effort, but it looks totally plain. Takes away from the feel of the game, especially now with the new expansion coming out. This is the time to play with the default UI and understand what it's lacking, not replace everything imaginable with pixel stuff. Too much is too much.

I get your point, but each to their own

I like zork's UI style as well, but it's just not for me.

I do agree some of the default stuff in Cataclysm looks pretty though, so I'm not sure if I'll leave in the skins for that (e.g. Spellbook)

That said, the theme I'm adding may look bland in a static screenshot, but it's quite pretty when you see the environment moving behind it.

That is exactly what I'm going to do. Try to play with most of the default elements as possible. Having all the Bling Bling in the UI is fun at first, but then I just want a functional UI but not overdo it with Addons I don't need. I like the default look of the UI, just don't like some of it's functionality or usability.

Most things in the default UI scream "bloat", so I welcome a pixel skin theme.

This is how oUF_Nivea r21 will look like in 4.x

* color sheme changed to something ... err, more friendly
* holy power and soul shards added (screenshot shows the empty bar), it will be moveable in game via oUF_MoveableFrames
...
a lot more changes (mainly code wise)

Pixel perfectness on Beta is kinda funny, seems to be always perfect for me, no matter if I use an UIScale or not.

Now all I need to do is waiting for patch day.

I can't agree with that. They fit a theme. A Pixel theme would never fit a Warcraft World. That is why Blizzard gave us addons and the beauty of it is anyone can make their UI they way they want.

Looking good Dawn. In MY taste I would give it some smooth class pastel colors or something, I think that would look interesting there.

Well I tried several ones. Ended up with a darker health color and a bright background color. But that's about the only thing that I want to keep, definitely. I had pastel colors in mind, too. Would you mind showing/telling me which ones you would use?

Maybe Photoshop'ing or simply change the colors in Nivea's config + screeny?

If you sayyy so! The work I've put into this will probably be worth zilch now that 4.0 is here, but oh well

This is really a spin-off of one of Led's more recent UI's, so they get the credit Lemme know what you think!

(The 1st pic is the overall look of the UI, the 2nd pic is mostly to show the castbars. Sorry I don't have raid shots, I changed the raidframes recently )

UI is now working on live too, save for stances/party and raid frames.

Haha, i love seeing what you manage to do with these UI elements, maybe you should make a new thread or something to show them off. ^^

I think that's a great idea. I think they look nice, too, Haleth.

Would it be possible to make Totem bars work like this? With one texture bar work per totem?

Any chance you'll release the UI Elements code as a stand alone addon or am I going to have to download FreeUI and rip its guts out?
