SavedVariables full --> deleted

Everytime I log on I get a message in red:

CRITICAL: Your Auctioneer SavedVariables file is 87.145% full!
(or whatever the percentage is at the moment)

The pattern is familiar to me by now: after a while I cross the 100% mark and the entire SavedVariables file is deleted, forcing me to start gathering data all over. Is there a way to avoid this from happening?

On how many realms do you play?

From my experience Auctioneer memory is tailored to support 2 realms (which mean having characters that are not on the same server and/or same faction). With one very active realm I am at around 55%. If I add another newer/smaller realm I jump to around 75%.

Data in Auctioneer is not supposed to grow indefinitely as prices are updated based on the archived values and the new ones for each scans. But once you've seen about all items on one realm/faction AH the database size should remain roughly stable. Think about it like a round robin database with pondered values.

Thanks for your response.

I play on two realms, one being very big (Doomhammer) and one of the smaller ones (Rexxar). Currently my auctioneer data is up to 90% and I have stopped scanning in fear that I will loose all my data -as has happened in the past. Is there maybe a way to increase the space I allocate for the auctioneer data?

From the code the size is fixed at (2^18) - 1 = 262 143 constants for all Auctioneer data (AuctionConfig, AuctioneerItemDB, AuctioneerSnapshotDB, AuctioneerHistoryDB, AuctioneerFixedPriceDB, AuctioneerTransactionDB). Now I have no clue why, whether it is an addon hard restriction or just a sane limit. You would need to ask the devs I guess...

there is no way to increase the auctioneer data. sorry.

auctioneer is bumping up against the max file limit set by blizz.

if i remember right there is a way to purge the data for realms and factions. you might want to go to the auctioneer forums and see how to do this.

Have you tried the /auctioneer clear all function for those servers that you are not currently using?

There may be other options than "all" - I am not sure - it may be worthwhile checking the Auctioneer wiki for a full command list

Good Luck

Just a quick follow up for other Auctioneer users/fans-

Auctioneer Advanced (AA) is on the street, available from the main Auctioneer site, Auctioneeraddon.com, and uses some magic so that this either will not or will less often cause the vile "full variable" issue.

Note that there are some big changes in AA compared to the ole reliable Auctioneer and those are discussed at length on the site message boards.

Hope this helps,

Nikk
