If I remember correctly it's an issue with NPCScan, not Carbonite. I think this was the addon where the author refused to update his addon until Carbonite was officially released for WoD. So now that it has been released (and not alpha/beta), go bug the author of NPCScan.

NPCScan isn't working because it's authors haven't updated it to work with Carbonite. If you want it to be fixed you have to report the problem to the NPCScan Developers not here.

If you still want to use NPCScan the only option you have is to delete the Interface\AddOns\_NPCScan.Overlay\Modules\Carbonite.lua file until they fix it.

You only have to disable NPCScan_Overlay.
I'm running NPCScan just fine with Carbonite.
