Question Install new UI

I'm sure somewhere this has been asked but I have looked and look and just can't find it.
How do I install my new UI I saw something about an addon folder but I looked all in my WOW folder and can't find one. Can I get a list of directions on how to install my UI?

Thanks
Thora

Typically this is what happens:
1. You open the zip folder
2. Extract the files to /wow/interface/addons/modfoldername/
3. Load the game and make sure that the addon button appears after logon.
4. Select the addon button and check the mods you wish to load.

**Note**
Each separate mod gets its own folder in the AddOns folder.

The other way to load a UI:
Default Files-
If you are loading a Default Modification UI, all the files should be extracted to your wow/Interface/FrameXML/ folder, unless otherwise noted in the installation instructions for your download/mod.

Default Graphics files will be in the wow/interface/framenamegraphics/ folder.

If there are any customized fonts, they must reside in the /fonts/ folder under the parent wow folder, not in any subfolder.

I'm sorry, im very new to this and could not find instructions on how to install,

2. Extract the files to /wow/interface/addons/modfoldername/

Do I make the addons folder in the interface folder. then make a folder for my charecter, or a folder for the name of the UI? also, do I save the UI I downloaded to that folder, or do I save it somehwere else and extract it to that folder? sorry for being so ignorant.

If you don't have an addons folder, and one is not created when you unpack the zip file, then you would have to make one. Unless other instructions are provided in the zip file, everything should be extracted to /wow/interface/addons/modfoldername/. If the extraction doesn't create the mod folder, then you would need to do this yourself and move the files to the appropriate folder.

Your final path should look (more or less) like this:

C:\Program Files\World Of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\MyModFolder\MyModFiles

Well, this should do it...

Hi dude.

Just do this:

1. Go to your WoW dir.
2. Find and enter the "Interface" folder.
3. Then you have to do one of these things:

a) IF the folder "AddOns" exists then you can just unzip your .zip file into the "AddOns" WITH AN OTHER folder called the same name as the UI Mod fx "CT_Mod".

b) Now if the folder "AddOns" DOESN'T exists in the "Interface" folder, then the "tricky" part comes:
You simply just add a new folder called: "AddOns"

Then it would be like this:
/Interface/AddOns/*****/unzipped-files-here
(***** = a folder with the name of the UI Mod)

Well explained?

Which button?

Hmm Which button is it that you're looking for?
Is it to install a mod, because installing a mod isn't done by programs.

Find this folder:
/Interface/AddOns/***Mob-folder here***

And then when you run the game it will automatically load all the mods insite the folder /AddOns/

But if it is a button coded into the mod then I can't help you, I'm not that skilled (yet )

Leftbottom corner of character selection screen

if you extracted everything fine then all addons that are in bloodeagles recompilation should show on addon list.

Your path should look like:

C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\CT_BagMod
C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\CT_BarMod
etc.

Note that the "I" in Interface, the "A" and "O" in AddOns should all be capital letters.

i downloaded gypsymod, and have all the folders that i think i need to have, in the right places. but when i log onto the game, nothing has changed. i typed /console reloadui , but the game freezes for a sec, and i get a bunch of action rejected noises. what am i not doing? are there files from WoW that i am supposed to delete, or is the mod just still installed wrong?

Were you using any other UI Mods previously?

On top of things now - i dont have an add on folder in my interface folder anymore. Anyone have any ideas? I cleared out the interface folder, extracted to my WOW folder, all that - everything appears in there now - but still nothing works. Please help me.

Deleting Cosmos:

If you were using the Cosmos installer, open it up, as if you were updating it. Go to configure. There is an option there to "Uninstall UI". Choose that. After it finishes, choose cancel. Then choose Exit. That *should* delete the entire Interface and WTF folders. If it didn't, manually go in to your WoW directory (probably something like):

C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface
and
C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\WTF

You want to make sure that the entire Interface and WTF folders are gone.

Installing CTMod (or *just about* any other mod, for that matter, substitute names as appropriate):

Extract the files to a folder on your desktop.

Open your WoW folder. Probably:

C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft

Create in it a new folder, called Interface

Open that folder, create another one inside it, called AddOns

Make sure on both of those that you have the capitalization the same as I do ... Capital I for Interface, Capital A and O for AddOns.

Open the AddOns folder.

Copy the files from the CT_Core folder into the AddOns folder.

Your final path should look like:

C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\CombatStats
C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\CT_BagMod
C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\CT_BarMod
etc.

Log into game.
