KgPanels texture creation help!

Hi!

I've just created my own UI, and I would like to create some own textures in particularly some lines and backgrounds. But I dont know how to create them in photoshop. I know I have to save them into .targa files but I read on another site that I cant have a white background while creating in photoshop, it will mess up the background or whatever you are doing.

So I would appreciate if some one could link a guide or telling me in little steps how to do.
