Rabscuttle's New MazzleUI Skin

Rabscuttle's New MazzleUI Skin
Working Title: iMazzle
Version: 1.0

Preview: One Two

Installation Instructions:

1) Unzip the Folder.

2) Put said folder in AddOns Folder found in Interface folder in your WoW directory!

3) Open the file MazzleUI_Core.lua, found in the MazzleUI folder, in your favorite text editor. At line 73 (at least iin my editor, may change for you but it's somewhere around there...) you should see the line "self:CreateViewport(147)". Put two hyphens in front of it so it looks like this: --self:CreateViewport(147). You brake it, you get both pieces!

4) In game, type "/mazzify" and choose Look 'n Feel, then select the Slate skin option. Unless you were already using the Slate skin, then you have "iMazzle" automatically loaded.

WARNINGTHIS WILL REPLACE THE SLATE SKIN. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO REPLACE THE SLATE SKIN, CHOSE ANOTHER SKIN TO REPLACE. I SUGGEST YOU KEEP IT THE WAY IT IS BECAUSE: A) THE SLATE SKINS ARE EASILY REPLACEABLE {THEY CAN BE DOWNLOADED HERE AT WOWINTERFACE.COM, SEARH FOR 'EM} B) IT MAKES THE INSTALLATION EASIER

Enjoy. Post all inquiries, suggestions and comments in this thread please.

Okay fairly easy to install and not have it override existing ones. First off rename the folder here like MazzleUI_Skin_Transl. Then go into the core.lua file open it using wordpad and change all the previous folders names to the new one (it would be everything after the Skin_ till the next slash). Then you have to edit in the Mazzifier addon a file called Mazzifier_Globals.lua, well add a line is more like it.

Mazzifier_SkinInfo[7] = {name="Kappatre's Slate Skin", devname= "slate", image="slate", lodName = "MazzleUI_Skin_Kappatre_Slate",
description="|CFF00FF00Skin Name|r: Kappatre's Purple Slate Skin\n\n|CFF00FF00Author|r: Kappatre\n\n|CFF00FF00Description|r: Purple skin with gradient texture. Modeled to look similar to a Skinner look.\n\n|CFF00FF00Provides|r: Bottom panel artwork and other basic artwork (castbar border, chatbox border, minimap border). "}
and the number will have to be one higher than the existing number (8 is highest for default mazzle) and if you want you can add new info in the lines etc, just make sure the lodName = "MazzleUI_Skin_Kappatre_Slate" line is the same as the new folder name you used. Oh the lines with the skin info is at the bottom of the file so you should be fine.

EDIT: I decided to be nice and make a new version of the skin folder with the proper stuff. I hope its all in the right place I don't promise anything except kindness, working, thats a whole different set of bananas.

Problem

I heard some where that mazzleUI stops rendering the game passed the the bottem skin. I assume this is why i have a black-ish box in place of a translucient box.

How do I make this work. lol.

maybe it'll take a reboot, or something, but when i loaded the slate skin, it didnt really look like the new one i had just downloaded (downloaded the fixed file)

was there something more i was supposed to do?

it seemed a bit more colorful than what was previewed in the authors screenshot

like purples and such o.O

i can get a screen shot in a bit, i am late for work!

Nice work I really like it
I saw another texture with the thin lines where it looks like the textures have connected also, Is there no way to get around them? aka. not have them? I'm just a curious non mazzle ui user so feel free to disregard
I think it will show its true potential with Cycircled Vol
Good job

The very faint vertical lines that look like their made by connecting the textures ( about 10cm in on each side, best seen on preview image 1). It crosses through the last 2 action bar buttons on the right hand side- That's the best i can do lol
Cycircled vol is a thin square bordered Cycirled texture; Which i can't find a screenshot or link for

Oh yes, those vertical lines, I know what you mean now. Maybe I should get rid of them...

I updated the Mazzifier_Globals.lua file airdragon made to have more relevant info to the skin, that is to say I changed the author and description fields, since the way airdragon left it, both the Slate skin and the new Translucent skin had the same info.

Now, if only I knew how to change the picture...

Installation Instructions: unzip the file and drop it nicely into your very own Mazzifier folder. That's it - now you can notice the change that doesn't really matter!

I tried changing the image string from "slate" to "transl" in Mazzifier_Globals.lua then created an .blp image named "transl" that I put in the images folder in the Mazzifier directory. This did not make the "transl" image appear in the mazzifier in-game, now no picture appears (instead of the slate image).

I figured that would do the trick, what am I missing?

i use vol for most of my UI skins so i have a few saved screens. instead of taking away from the point of this post ill provide a link as opposed to an imbedded image. Vol button texture

This is very nice indeed. Maybe I will jack up this idea up and make a different skin . I kind of missing doing PSD for a while now... SilkRoad Online is starting to bored me with bots and gold seller... and I even lost one rarest item in the game .
