I still use Fubar_Questfu ( hacked comments ) and use it with lightheaded.Have been very happy with this .

first of all congrats with you're Granddaughter. I wish you all a lot of fun with the new Family member.

Back to the great NUI.
Always i log in with any Char, i got this error message below. Makes no difference if i disable all the other add ons or try with a fresh WTF folder.

I am playing with the German client. Would be great if you can look into that issue.

Keep up you´re great work!!

Just curious how NUI is handling the new zombie world event, if it is at all. I have heard it uses the new vehicle tech, but I don't know. I know that the possess/pet bar in the UI i am currently using will not work on the zombie actions.

While nUI Beta 3 has been ported to the 3.0.2 WoW patch is has *not* yet been modified to support the new features of WotLK. I expect to make the Beta 3 public this Saturday and will immediately begin work on a Beta 4 which will be developed specifically for the release of WotLK and made public on November 13th when WotLK goes live. Beta 4 will be available to nUI supporters and language translators only as a closed test (via e-mail only) between this Satuday and Novermber 13th.

Between now and Novermber 13th I will not be adding any new features to Beta 3... only doing bug fixes. After WotLK goes live *then* I'll start adding new features, the other raid panels, etc... all in the WotLK compatible version of nUI.

Hey,
all going well with the ui

Only me and my friends are having some problems with pvp button. Its in the same window as the mouse over as you know and it's always hard to target because the mouse over will activate.

Perhaps placing the pvp (BG) button on a other position.

With my lock, I'm having some problems with the cooldown of the petbar.
If my felguards intercepts, 30 sec CD, I can't see that on my petbar.

I've never done cooldowns for the pet bar. I'll get to that after the WotLK

Well... I hate to admit this, but I am completely stumped by the Warlock's Metamorphasis ability... it is and behaves as a stance or shapeshift form, not a spell. However, this makes the warlock class the only one that can have a stance bar AND a pet bar at the same time and that is further complicated by the fact that just because the toon is a lock, does not mean they can use metamorphasis.

Until now, it has never been possible to have a stance bar and a pet bar at the same time. This change has broken that rule but only if you are a lock and only if you have spent the talent points in demonology. So, I can use the same space on the dashboard for all three bars... the possession bar, the stance bar and the pet bar which until now were all mutually exclusive (and still are EXCEPT this ONE situation)... if you are possessed then both the stance and pet bars are hidden, if you are not possessed and you have a pet, the stance bar is hidden, if you are neither possessed nor have a pet then the stance bar is visible (though it may be empty).

I can no longer apply that rule. Somehow I have to figure out how to make the stance bar and pet bar both available to the lock if he has metamorpahsis without breaking how this stuff all works for everyone else.

For the moment at least, I have no plausible "elegant" solutions. The only thing I can come up with is to create a completely separate stance bar just for locks and attach it to the pet bar... but that's sloppy and is going to cause support and maintenance issues down the line.

In any event, I've played with FuBar all night tonight and I've played with the lock metamorphasis problem all night and as a result, once again, I have no "fixes" for the few issues that remain so, again, I have no update tonight. In the meantime, if anyone cares to throw ideas at me on the lock problem, I'm all ears (eyes).

I am not sure how the UI and bars totally work, but I do know about programing.

Alot of times when things don't want to work withing the same program, you have to remove one and make it separate, but call it from the other program. What about a separate addon, that only needs to be added by warlocks, that would create a separate possess bar when they used the talent. Have the ability button be part of the other addon and not nUI.

Like I said, I dont know WOWs API or code, but this has worked in other programming situations throughout my time writing code.

a few questions

I wouldn't mind helping support this project through donation. But I have a few questions first if possible.

Does game resolution make a difference? I run WoW in 1920 x 1200.

Is there a backpack/bank management part of this UI? If not will there be problems with using an outside one?

Are all the frames (eg. quest, character sheet....) movable? If they are locked in place can they be unanchored and moved without altering the lua code itself?

Last one. Is this UI raid friendly? As in does it support oRA2 or some other type of raid assist program?

Sorry about all the questions, just want to be sure that this is actually the addon compilation for me.

Thank you a lot for all your time and effort.

Just a note, but Bliz chanced a lot with the meta talent during the beta of lich. There was a time that the pet went poof while transformed, and you only used to have the demon spells and no others as well.. I guess it used to be a stance with shapeshift effect and later got turned into a spell like the priest shadow form (I think that's "just" a spell..).. Might be a hack and patch job on blizzards end...

I was under the impression that they even removed the "stance" bar tho,.. But haven't played the lich beta for some time and don't like the talent that much.

Guess not much usefull info...

Should work on all resolutions supported by WoW. Only the scaling UI option of WoW can screw it up, and Fubar like mods may interfere at times..

No, but other bag replacements work, I use Combuctor and have no problem at all with that.

Think they are... Or I use a mod for that... But I think it's nUI that does it...

Define UI raid friendly ? I think not all healers may like the integrated 10 man raid panels (no 25+ panels yet) as the health bars are a bit small.. I like it tho (as a lock), and just use grid for the 25 men raid. (Tho, not really needed as a lock)

Fred -- funny you should bring that up, it's something I've been chewing on in the back of my mind, particularly given this issue with the stance bar and warlocks. I was actually thinking about breaking all of this up into three bars... one for stance, one for pet controls (stay, follow, passive, defensive and agressive) and one for pet talents.

I'd have to change the dashboard ever so slightly to make it fit, but it's doable I think. In this way, the center section where the pet bar is now would become a ten button pet talent bar and somewhere around it would be located the stance bar and the pet controls... to the left and right I suppose. My only concern is this uses more real estate and is of no use whatsoever to classes that don't have pets who would now have a big empty space in the center of the dashboard... something I'm not real crazy about.

Maybe an option to fit the stance bar in the topconsole ?

My concern in that would be that would be a real pita for warriors and druids who use mouse clicks in combat.

With the empty space for other class's, could it be used as a plain bar, where they load it with whatever they want?

After much thought on the subject, I've come up with solutions to both the Warlock Metamorphosis problem and the FuBar/Lib-Jostle problems... I'm working on the code now and WILL have another nUI Beta 3 update out via e-mail later tonight.
