Changes to Addon-Pack / Brainstorming

Hey, I'm using Mazzle for a long long time (Pre-BC...) and still it is the best by far. If you check the past, Mazzle was not only updating the addons in the package, but also changing them if something new/better came out.

Now, Addons are often personal choice. But just as a brainstorming, maybe we can find some addons that need/should be changed to be part of Mazzle UI.

I'm just posting MY Changes. Feel free to post your changes or to comment mine.

---------------------------

PvP Addons

Antagonist

Out-Dated?

I use http://www.wowinterface.com/download...fflicted2.html

If you watch current PvP-Videos this is THE PvP Addon right now. 5/5 from me.

Arena Pointer + Capping

Well, I use http://www.wowinterface.com/download...69-SSPVP2.html, that is also replacing Capping (and a Raid-Invite Addon for AV). And it does a lot more stuff. Nice Summary of PvP Scoreboard and so on.

Not THAT much better, but the Arena Point Part is very nice done.

ArenaUnitFrames

Proximo, is the best http://www.wowinterface.com/download...2-Proximo.html

To be honest, same like for afflicted. You see Proximo in like every PvP Vid out there and that for a reason. It IS the best.

WitchHunt

Spell Alert or the really niffty http://www.wowinterface.com/download...llAlerter.html both are a lot better..

And easier to set up. But both are way more informative than WitchHunt

PvE Stuff

KLHThreatMeter

Omen2 Hands down. At least add both like for BigWigs + DBM, so one can decide which one to use. But just for update-speed, AoE mode and Healer Mode it wins. Also takes a lot less CPU Power and does not spam the chat so much.

sRaidFrames

I used them a long long time. Right now I'm mostly tanking, so I use Grid just for overview and once-in-a-while healing. I have in Raids my Group active and have the Grid on the right hand side. Not "real" mazzle, but I like the 3D Unit frames to much

So hard to decide. sRaidFrames is a part of Mazzle for the way it looks and is a visual part. I just disliked that 25 Players (5 Groups) are just always stupid to add for a splitt raid view because it is like 3 groups left and 2 right. Or all 5 right and then there is a hole (sw_stats & omen fit there of course..)

Could be just me then using Grid.

DiscordUnitFrames

If (big.. huge if..) one can make it with Pitbull that it looks JUST like it is supposed to look (1:1) I would take Pitbull immediatly. But I have NO clue if that is possible at all.. But theoretically Pitbull should be able to do the same. Just hell of a setting it up (Mazzle 3D Unit Frames..)

I'm not touching that, I'm not that good *g*

AMP/AMPFu

(Disabled it anyhow. There is http://www.wowinterface.com/download...BossBlock.html, but

that is not really the same. But I use it (and yes, DBM has a BossBlock, but I have BigWigs active))

Chronometer

Outdated as hell. I'm using http://files.wowace.com/ClassTimer/C...mer-r71967.zip works very

well

Hourglas

I use OmniCC (in Mazzle) + ClassTimers (see Chronometer), works and is not that outdated *g*

Some other Stuff

Auktion House:

AHsearch/AH_ShowBid/Fence/qAHImproved

There is Auctioneer, but that is about 10 times as big.. I'm using it, but I spend 2hours a week in the AH.. So I have Auctioneer. But I would not force anybody to use it. It eats lots of memory.

Carthographer + all Addons for Carth

I switched to the lighter Mapser (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...6-Mapster.html)

For Gathering I use GatherMate http://files.wowace.com/GatherMate/GatherMate.zip and for

Waypoints TomTom http://www.wowinterface.com/download...32-TomTom.html
For instance maps I use http://files.wowace.com/InstanceMaps...s-r76035.4.zip

This "should" take less memory and have the same funktion. But on the other hand.. Ah.. don't know.

There is a beta to Carthographer 3 which is like googlemaps. That could be the next big map addon out there.

cycircled

ButtonFacade Hands down. http://www.wowace.com/wiki/ButtonFacade

nQuestLog

I replaced it with DoubleWide. But that was mainly because nQuestLOg generated a lot of errors at one time..

Prat

After reading a interessting article at ElitistJerks about memoryhog addons where prat was one major memoryhog I found chatter. Looks the same, or better. 10% memory consumption. I like it a lot. WowAce Addon

SCT

There is MSBT, there is Parrot (Fan Update 2.4). I dig Parrot, but that is probably just me. As there is no new Parrot out, I would leave SCT in as the most used one.

TinyTip

CowTips wins big time. So much more funktional. Yes takes time to set up, but then? Win.

i think it could be done fairly easily with pitbull, look at arkiveUI, he pretty much is using default pitbull and it looks the same, just take that and configure the portrait feature into it and your done.

Agree 110%. Proximo is a must have!

"nQuestLog

By far the best quest addon I have found is Quest Helper! Nothing more is needed. The first thing I do when I mazzify is delete nquestlog and instal quest helper.

"Omen2 Hands down."

Again, 100% agree. Do away with KLH Threat Meter.

The one thing I didn't see you mention is the damage meter. Recount hands down! Do away with the other two options.

I have TourGuide. That with all the in-Game infos from Light-Headed is my solution. Even thou Quest Helper seems to be THE Quest addon by far. But TourGuide is nice: "Just follow the arrow" *g*

I love Recap. I use it for 2 years + and I just wont change it. But from what I have read, Recount > SW_Stats. But for me, good thing that mazzle gives me the option what Damagemeter I want.

As an FYI Omen2 and Recount have been added into the next release as options in addition to Recap/Sw_Stats and KLH

TipTac is as good as Cowtip without taking up an 1/8 of the screen. Has an anchor you can drag (presets FTL), and just feels less intrusive to me.

http://www.wowinterface.com/download...93-TipTac.html

Nearly everything else I would agree with, but by the time someone would be able to implement them (into Mazzify), there would likely be something better.

OK regarding ButtonFacade, until support for Bongos3 is built into Mazzle or if the user replaces the Mazzle Bongos with Bongos3, Bartender4, InfintiyBars2 or TrinityBars2, you are stuck with using cyCircled as there is NO Bongos plugin for ButtonFacade. There is one for Bongos3 however no support for older versions of Bongos including the one built into Mazzle.

TinyTip

Regarding the tool tip mod. If you are looking for a customizable tooltip that is lightweight then look at TipTac. Its based on the default mod of TipBuddy but is lighter weight than TipBuddy or CowTip. Sure CowTip is a great mod however DogTags (the core around which CowTip is customized) is a bit weighty for use with just one mod. If also use PitBull and Parrot then it makes more sense as both of those mods also use DogTags.

The rest of your suggestions make perfect sense. With the Auction mods, if you use Auctioneer Advanced, you can turn off what you don't use including things like BeanCounter.

The UnitFrames would be tricky as you can get the Mazzle look with PitBull however positioning will be a big pain in the **BEEP** as PitBull currently does not support free form Party UnitFrame spacing the way DUF does.

The use of Grid as Raid frames makes perfect sense as the sRaidFrames layouts for Mazzle were built prior to the switch to 25 man raids so the raid layouts can be awkward especially for healers.

Support for Omen/Threat 2.0 should be also build into the UI even if it is an alternative to KTM. Most raiding guilds that I know of (including my own) mandates the use of Omen or other Threat 2.0 compatible AddOn.

FYI Parrot is updated on the WoWAce files site, works 100% in 2.4 and its awesome. and yes CowTip is also great and also Updated on the WoWAce site I recommended both.

As for the other addons, the biggest thing for MazzleFizz when he was making the addon pack was to pack it as Ace as possible, iirc these mods you posted are not all Ace or Ace2 or Ace3. I would stick with what we have mostly.
The only addons I added are:
Parrot, so much more custimizability.
Examiner, because imo SuperInspect just plain sucks now, and Examiner has better features.
AckisRecipeList, because it shows me what recipes I'm missing and where to get them.
AtlasLoot, because its plain awesome.
Auditor2, because it has many features that MoneyFu doesn't.
AuldLangSyne, because it combines FriendsFu and GuildFu into one and includes syncing and notes.
AutoTurnin, helps with those pesky rep quests.
DailiesQuestTracker, great mod for tracking the dailies.
HealBot, great for healing.
SorrenTimers, better then chronometer and combines the features of some of the mods in the pack.
WIM, helps keep Whispers in one spot.

The majority of these mods are updateable via the WoWAceUpdater and they integrate perfectly into Mazzle.

As for your SRaidFrames comment, you have two options for it not to be split. 1) Get a widescreen monitor and go widescreen. 2) Put the raid frames on the top.

Anyways thats my two cents about everything. Still love Mazzle!

Since you mentioned it, Examiner will be replacing SI in one of the next releases (if not the next).

I also personaly use AuldLangSyne and may talk to Mazzle about swapping to this also.

For right now all that we are doing is getting everything to work correctly and replacing those mods that either no longer work at ALL or are not being supoprted any longer and probably will not work the next patch release. We will not be adding new content (with the exception of Recount and Omen2) or be replacing mods that function without issue at this time.

In the future making some of these larger changes or replacements may happen but for right now we are concentrating on bug fixes and getting all the existing mods or their replacements working.

This is not to say I dont like seeing these suggestions so please keep them up.

Recipe Book - for seeing what alts know what recipes when at the AH or a vendor.
Recipe Radar - For locating recipes you don't know sold by vendors.

I have added:
Arkinventory
Atlas
Atlasloot
Examiner
Doublewide
Auctioneer
Omen
Recount

Pretty much the same things mentioned above

I agree with most of the above and have made these changes.

In addition for combat log, I have deleted the existing windows and slotted in Eavesdrop. Fits in very well with the UI and is a very nice simple conbat log.

I like what everyone else has pretty much said. Recount and Omen are already in so that sounds good. But other than them

Auctioneer Advanced - Optional due to high memory
ArkInventory - I find it easier to set up than baggins
Atlas + atlas loot - Much better instance maps than cartographer
Cartographer (insert profession) - The premade locations of herbs, ore, etc
Questhelper - Could questing get any easier with this?
MSBT - I just love the ability it has to stack AoE damage into one line (My screen goes insane when I try to AoE 40 guys without it)

Think that is about it.

Small issue, just ignore it if its too difficult.
I use the simple button layout - primarily because i havn't found a class-specifik layout that i could live with. However that means i hafta place my spells again every time i try mazzle from scratch or does a full mazzlegasm.

Is it at all possible to setup the bars without reseting my spell-placement?
I will still hafta do some custome setup, because i for several of my toons also makes 3 bars for Numpad (ctrl/alt). But it would be cool if it wasn't nessesary to reset spell placements (as an option).

The Bongos Guy made a new Bar Addon, it is called Mangos (at the moment) and will be replacing Bongos 3. I'm using it, has support for ButtonFacade and works (for me) perfect.

Let's see when he does release it (right now it is on google svn)

Yes. Uncheck place spells in bar when you mazzify your buttons.

Yah I am aware of Dominos (formally Mangos). I am testing it myself. It looks promising however there is still some work to be done as (at least with the build I downloaded today), bar menus are not working so you can't things like paging or mouse over alphas. However Tuller will get those issues cleared up.
