If you're talking about the instructions in this FAQ -- http://www.wowinterface.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=21011 -- then that is the correct way to change the bar size in nUI5. Just make sure you're editing the correct file and you do have to save the changes before you reload the UI.

In what way does it 'not seem to work right' ?

Also, you may noticed while doing this small change that the bars overlap. At that point you need to do /nui movers and move the main action bar up higher.

Editing the other bars to bigger sizes are a bit more awkward due to their current location. What I did was put my main buttons on the main bar and not worry so much about the rest.

Once nUI 6 comes out with more flexibility with layout things should be easier.

Are you sure you're changing them in the right place? And what exactly are you trying to change? Size? Location? Rows & Columns or something else?

The correct path should be [ C: > Program Files > World of Warcraft > Interface > AddOns > nUI > Layouts > Default > nUI_Layout_Default_Dashboard.lua ] on a Windows XP machine or on a Windows 7 / Windows Vista machine it would be [ C: > Users > Public > Games > World of Warcraft > Interface > AddOns > nUI > Layouts > Default > nUI_Layout_Default_Dashboard.lua ]

Customizing help!

Hey guys, just downloaded nUI, great so far just a few things I need help with:

in regards to the screenshot I attached to this comment how do i:

1) Get rid of the action bars that are in the middle left and right of the screen without also taking the skills off the action bars in the bottom

2)Get rid of my pet bar (top left) and class bar (top middle interfering with the top menu bar etc) as the pet bar and class bar are already combined in the bottom portion above the action bars

3) get rid of the target info that appears under the minimap in the bottom middle...i prefer the info box that appears middle left above the big action bar (although i will move it)

any help would be greatly appreciated

nUI 101 .. rofl, sorry, couldn't resist.

You haven't disabled your old bar addons. Try turning them off and see if it improves. That said though ....

You might want to take a look here and read up on first time installation of nUI.

http://www.nuiaddon.com/documentation.html
And then click on Installation.
That may be your best solution so that you don't have any artifact problems left over from your old addons.

However, my suggested steps to introducing nUI into your gameplay without a fresh install is to do the following:

1. Rename WTF folder so that you are using new data.
2. Turn off all addons even nUI and log into virgin wow so that it can create the fresh new data it needs.
3. Turn on nUI on its own and log into a toon you won't need to raid with for a while but enough to test things out.
4. Do some quests, kill some mobs, every day stuff and see if there is something missing that nUI doesn't give you.
5. Turn on the appropriate addon you have been using and make sure it still works with nUI without any compatibility problems.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you have a running system without raiding.
7. Next look at what raiding addons you need and see if you noticed it as part of nUI proper in which case you won't need them. Others, just install and make sure they don't have loading issues.
8. Repeat step 7 until your much needed raiding addons have been activated.
9. Make a note of the addons you are using and remove the other ones as you no longer need them.
10. Now go enjoy

Do you have another action bar mod in your addons folder? If so, disable or delete it.

Oops. Cross posted with Xrystal.
