StarshadowUI ~ Official Thread

Starshadow UI

Request: Please rate my UI when you download it! Thank you

Information
StarshadowUI is a compilation of modules for World of Warcraft that was assembled by me. I find it to be a clean and useful collection of modules that really enhances my abilities to play, not only in combat, but also for the social and mercantile aspects of the game.

Hey Ghent, nice ui!

Got just one problem (I'm pretty new to this).

My targetframe is just above my char-display - Know how to fix?

I've been hearing this a lot, and it seems to be an issue with Gypsy. I'm trying to research the cause. Can you tell me if you deleted your WTF & WTB folders before you started?

Lol, well, still lovin the compilation, and I haven't done anything to change the add-ons, this is all what you have given and mine comes up looking like this:

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c7...105_172037.gif

Like I said, this is unchanged, fresh start, all removed (WTF, Interface, WTB) and brand new. My Party frame isn't popping up, thats my only problem. Everything else has been working wonderfully.

Edit: Also, my titan panel top bar (when centered) seems to no longer have a center feature, seems to only be setting it to a tab X distance from the left, and then the right has no tab to work with (maybe there's just a sizing issue).

Edit #2: Ok, so I had my Party Frames and EVERYTHING working for like, 5 minutes, don't ask me how, and then I went to reload my ui and they've disappeared again:

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c7...105_191425.gif

The problem is that the party frame is set inverted to the player frame within Gypsy, how you edit that, I don't know since you adjusted the menu for Gypsy Mod. but you can also see that the player target frame is set right on top of the player frame as well.

I'm at home today and testing all of this stuff, I will let you know if I figure anything out

Just a small question: Are you aware that 80% of the mods you have on here are out of date?

When I load them up, almost every single one is disabled since I start out with not loading out of date mods.

Edited: Exactly 30 of your mods in there are out of date, most of them being the Titan Panel add-ons, but also DataFish, EnergyWatcher, etc.

Completely aware. I update the ones that are updated by the authors. Other than that, if they work okay with loading out of date AddOns, then I leave them alone. As a systems administrator, I learned a long time ago, if it's not broken, don't fix it :P

Blizzard supplied the ability to load out of date AddOns as part of the functionality of the client itself, so it presents no issues.

Has the updated release fixed the problem you were experiencing?

You probably need to start completely fresh. There are settings from the old Gypsy install in your WTF & SavedVariables that will continue to show the mistakes after you update. I would advise you to make backups, then delete the WTF and WDB folders, install the new download and try it from there. I've tried this on 3 different computers (2 of which were showing the problems you guys were having) and they do not do it anymore.

hmm...i'm having a small problem with wowplayer where, on load up, it pops up with an error message saying somethging like "error wowplayer being loaded up twice, will conflict with titan panel" or something like that. is this normal? i followed ur instructions, deleted my whole old interface folder, and wdb and wtf folders, and just fresh installed ur full ui package (the one with everything in it, wowplayer, wowrankings, etc). but it popped up with that message. i've since deleted the wowplayer, and it no longer has that problem. i'd like to use wowplayer, but won't if it conflicts with anything else.

To access the unit frames, click the 'N' on the minimap for North (it's a button now) and for target of target, type /targett

Thank you for the compliment

I have a few problems and i cant seem to figure out how to fix them, first of all alot of things block eachother, the gypsy mod lock blocks BG queue icon, and the titan pannel cuts into the skills bar and the minimap. also i cant seem to get more than one center row of skill bar this is becoming the most frustrating for me. any help woudl be appreciated thx
