Silly question

I've seen some screenies for a few mods and in the mini map it displays surounding targets as dots. I was wondering if this is a mod or something in the core game? thanks

That would be hunter tracking (and I believe some other classes get limited versions of tracking as well, just not as comprehensive as hunters).

There are other examples of mini-map tracking such as the Paladins "detect undead", and a miner's "mining detection".
