Performance Issue

Not sure if this the the correct location to post this, but thought I might find out if anyone else experiences this issue.

I've been making my UI and everything seemed to be running smooth until I added in the Actionbars. Now, everytime OpenRDX updates the framerate counter, the screen stops for a split second. So, as I am flying or riding along, about every half second, I get a slight Jitter or Pause.

Any Ideas?

No, but with OpenRDX, everything is possible.

Can you provide the list of addons you are using ?

And can you give me a copy of your window ?
Do a backup of your package and then go into your WTF folder and find the file RDX_Recovery.lua

thanks

Performance Problems..

Here is a list of my active addons:

Advanced Tradeskills Window
Auctioneer
Atlas
Atlas Loot
Autobar
Baggins
Capping
Carbonite
Decursive
DrDamage
Elkano's Buffbars
FreeRefills
Fubar
GarbageFu
Gatherer
Gearscore
GoGoMount
HitsMode
Overachiever
Peggle
Postal
RatingsBuster
RDX_mediapack
Slidebar
Smartbuff
Talented
teksloot
TipTac
xloot
OpenRDX
Deadly Boss Mods

Many of these I hope to replace with RDX windows. I just haven't built them yet.

attached are the solo and party screenshots. I have the stutter/jitter problem in both modes. Like I said, it was only after I added the actionbars that I noticed it.

I will try taking the action bars out tomorrow and putting Dominos back in to see what happens.

Ok, stripped my UI down

All that is left is RDX, Baggins and GoGoMount, and it is running smoothly.

I'm going to add one addon at a time back to see when the jitter comes back.

Ok, New Update

What I have found is it doesn't matter what addons I have enabled with RDX, what matters is how much memory my addons are using.

Without RDX enabled, I have 60mb worth of memory usage, using all the addons I've been using before adding RDX. Things work smoothly, my frame rates are only about 45 fps, but there is no stutter.

With RDX, once I hit the magic number of 20mb memory usage for my addons, the stutter starts. Every 1/2 second or so when the framerate number in the control panel updates. Doesn't matter what combination of addons are running with RDX, and I'm averaging somewhere between 100-150fps while the stutter is happening. If I drop addons until my memory usage is below 20mb, the stutter goes away.

No Warning

The only thing that shows up as a problem when I log in is an LUA err message. Mentioning that it can not find an instance of the LibDataBroker-1.1 library.

When I disable the VFL Profiler in the addons list, the jitter goes away, but then I am unable to edit or unlock my desktop.

Ahhh

I was suspecting our profiler to have this problem. I will add an option to disable the getmemoryaddon every 2 secondes.

About libdatabroker, yes, there is a fix in the last SVN.

Is my best solution to this just to disable the VFL Profiler during normal game play?

By default the profiler is fully disable.

You need to activate it from the panel profiler.

The memory is not shown in the main panel anymore.
