trying to install

this is my first time using nUI and so i only have the lite version for now so i can seeif i like it.

i added the nUI folder into my addons folder and it doesn't look right.

That is definitely not right... it looks like one of the addons nUI integrates is throwing an error during the load. Try disabling all mods except nUI and see if nUI loads correctly then... if not, please let me know. Otherwise, you can start enabling your other mods one or two at a time until it breaks again. Once we know which mod is throwing the error, we can look at why.

One more thing as was just pointed out in another thread... make sure you are installing the correct version of nUI... it should be nUI 5.06.04 -- anything earlier than that will not work.
