Question non existant sound file (name)?

How can I find the sound file "MON_CorruptedTentacle_CreatureLoop"?

This used to be my go-to video for sound extraction
How to extract models/sounds from Blizzard Games after new file system

This was the equivalent reddit post
How to mute annoying sounds (tutorial)

I haven't looked for sounds in a while and, as you can see, those links aren't recent.

As part of the Amalgam of Destruction pet, this sound has become annoying
MON_CorruptedTentacle_CreatureLoop

I have started up
Casc Viewer
and gone through all of the sounds I can, using the most recent listfile that seems possible
bloerwald / LegionFiles

Clicking the sound file on the wowhead page, as linked above, only gives me "/script PlaySoundKitID(452)"
That seems fine, but I am unable to translate that information into a sound file name (so that I can find it).

I'm sure that, as mentioned in the reddit post above, clicking a wowhead sound link used to give something like "/script PlaySoundFile("sound\\creature\\hydra\\mhydrastand2a.ogg")". That would be useful, as you can see the directory in which to find the sound. PlaySoundKitID seems meaningless in comparison.

Again - How can I find the sound file "MON_CorruptedTentacle_CreatureLoop"?
It seems to not exist, but that would be impossible. I can hear it in-game, and wish that I could not, so it must be there.

Thanks!

25641, MON_CorruptedTentacle_CreatureLoop

25641 is the SoundKit ID.

That seems like a good resource, but I don't find myself able to use it to find the sound file.

I had the "MON_CorruptedTentacle_CreatureLoop", and the ID number doesn't point me towards something like a directory such as:
"sound\\creature\\hydra\\mhydrastand2a.ogg"

Thanks for the consideration.

Recent changes to the PlaySound function moved from using paths to files to using ShoundKit Ids.

The page I pointed you to shows the new IDs to use for the old file names.

There is also a Soundkit table that equates "normalised" old file names to IDs.

That part was understood, though I appreciate the file list (a good resource).
Wowhead shows the file IDs individually, so it's good to have them in one place.

I suppose I was hoping that something like "Mute Annoying WoW Sounds" might have been updated to handled sounds as they are now.

I'd hoped to find the new sounds and create similar blank files.

Thanks.

EDIT: It IS possible!

Credit to user Kanegasi, at mmo-champion, for:

"sound/doodad/go_corruptedtentacle_loop.ogg
In the future, an easier way to look for files would be to skip the CASC process entirely and just ctrl+f the listfile."

He's absolutely right. It's far easier.
I created a blank ogg file, for "go_corruptedtentacle_loop", and it works.
It would seem that wowhead ought to be listing the sound with that as its name, instead of "MON_CorruptedTentacle_CreatureLoop".

So there it is, folks. Ctrl+F the listfile and you ought to find what you're looking for.

SOLVED!

I am here as well wowhead only lists the "virtual" name of sounds, which is what PlaySound used to use.
