To answer the first question, this is apparently a layout bug. I'll make sure it's fixed in the next maintenance release... thanks for pointing it out. As for the second question, you edit the post and once in the editor you'll get an option to delete it. Sorry about leaving your bug report hanging out there unloved for so long.
