Why do I need to register to download?
We require people to have an account with us to download files becuase we want to reduce the amount of hotlinks to our files. This saves us on a ton of bandwidth.
We also want to track any abuse to our system.

That's the reason why we require registration. I know it puts some folks off, but we have to weigh that against the bandwidth costs. That being said, I'll talk it over with the others again.
To be honest, they keep saying open it up and I am the one that keeps saying "no".
