Spell tips not showing in combat

Ok I'm one of those people who gets lost in a paper bag, so I rely on my spell tooltips especially when learning a new class. With nui, I havent been able to see the tips displayed while in combat. I've gone thru everything in my interface options and went down the list to see if it was somehow disabled. I've also been searching the forums, but so far havent found anything helpful on the subject. Any suggestions?

/nui combattips
This option toggles display of action button tooltips on and off while in combat lockdown. The default is to hide the tooltips in your action bar buttons while in combat.

Nooo! That would be offensive to people with big, oddly shaped heads who have a disorder that causes their skin to have a bright yellow tinge. And they HATE it when you squeeze their heads! Jeez, Viz, don't you know ANYTHING???
