Sticky chat

Hi all

I want to be able to send a chat message and have the channel that the message was sent to become the current channel.

Currently, I can send a string to guild chat and then join the guild channel;
Lua Code:
  1. SendChatMessage("Guild Message", "GUILD")
  2. ChatEdit_ChooseBoxForSend():SetAttribute("chatType", "GUILD") -- set sticky channel

I want to do the same for General, or Trade chat, but so far had no success.

I have dug through the ChatFrame.lua file and still have no idea of how to get this working.

I would really appreciate some direction here.

Cheers

I'm seeing the attribute for stickyType being set, but the only place I see it being read is when it's verifying access to party/raid channels.

Hi SDPhantom

Sorry for the late reply.

Yes you are right, I can only set when accessing party/raid/instance channels.
