Gothicknight -- look at the third image in the screencaps I posted most recently. As I said, the raid and party panels DO show the health remaining as an actual number as well as a percent -- both. Whether or not you see the actual health remaining on a hostile mob will depend on whether or not you have a mod like MobInfo2, and eventually MobHealth, installed.

Yeah wat i ment by the health as a total number is the reaming. instead of it being % i could see that actual amount of health e.g 7568/10000 for and example or even just the amount remaing.

The reason i ask is when i heal i have gotten used to seeing the actual numbers instead of % ( i did try just using % at one stage and failed miserably)

But either way thanx again. and i hope i am not going over board with the feature requests

No worries... I just know that was a subject you had brought up before and I didn't want you to think I hadn't heard you ~smile~

New feature... another peek...

Well... I just finished adding the battlefield minimap back in and I added some new features to it. The battlefield minimap now marks your raid member icons with their group numbers so you can see who is an isn't where they are supposed to be. It also shows you who is taking damage (red) and who is receiving heals (green) on the battlefield minimap in realtime (as realtime as WoW gets anyway.

So... here's a peek...

I love this ui and all the work you have put into it (blood sweat and maybe a little tears?)

From a healers stand point i would like to suggest 2 additions

1. a sort of range finder to the raid/party frames so i can see with just a glance at who is in range for my farthest heal and who isn't (make the players frame fade out a little bit for those who are out of range) This is a life saver for me both in battlegrounds and in raids (i play a resto shaman)

2. Color the players frame with what they are afflicted with (per class, example: shaman can cleanse poison and diseases so green or yellow/orange when they are afflicted by it) It helps just as much as a range finder to quickly see they are afflicted with said debuff instead of remembering what the icon looks like when they have a rogue bending them over the armory

You in no way shape or form need to add these features, god you have got to be sick of playing with this one addon by now if anything i would rather see it put in (if it was at all) for Wotlk ready version of nUI (because i just want my greedy little hands on the new version all ready )

This will be in Beta 2 for sure. I don't know if it will make the first release or not, but if not then very soon thereafter.

~lol~

Yes... this two is already coded into the Beta 2, just not tested enough for me to release it yet. In any event, this will also be out very quickly if not in the first release.

Looks like I beat you to it, actually... so you can look forward to both those features being there. ~smile~

Exclamation First look at the minimap panel...

Gatherer's are gonna love this minimap... it's not a postage stamp in the corner, should be easy to spot your pops while you're flying by.

I've got some unused space because, as best as I can tell, I cannot make the minimap be a rectangle and not loose valuable information from the top and bottom of the frame. I'll work on that at a later date, but don't want to invest too much time on it right now. So... I've gone with a square minimap and that's left me some spare room on this panel.

I'm sure we'll think of something to fill it with.

I plan on adding raid group numbers and damage indicators to the minimap as I did in the Battlefield Minimap I showed in the last screencap... I just have to figure out who the POI's are to tap into. That, too, can wait for a later date.

In the meantime, here's a peek and, as always... feedback is valuable.

Spiel, each and every new screenshot makes me want beta2 more and more! I have a small suggestion, which definitely won't make or break nUI: I love a clean Minimap - will it be possible to move the buttons currently on the minimap to where the other buttons are? Like I said, this is just a small suggestion so if it's not possible or you don't have enough time, then no worries at all...

Spiel, just a small idea in regards to the space next to the minimap, you could leave it blank, that way those of use who use Carbonite and dont have it take over your minimap, we could put our Carbonite minimap next to it. Just dont no how it would work when changing pages.

Just an idea.

P.S. Are u enjoyin teasing us with the sreenshots, making us want it more??
(joke). Thanx for showing us how georgeous Beta 2 is going to look andi am sure it will performe just as good

Thanx again

Gothic,

I ran in to an interesting issue with Carbonite. I have an Acer Extensa 5420 laptop that had windows vista home premium loaded. Well I got sick of Vista and all the issues and lag and decided to get XP Pro and loaded it on the system.

I reinstalled WoW and all my addons and everything appeared to be working awesome until I played an alt character of mine. I have an alt mage, everytime I teleport it crashes WoW.

I went back through all my drivers and updates to make sure everything was loaded, and it was, current BIOS pack as well.

So I deleted my WTF folder and tried again and same thing, I crash. I deleted all addons and everything was perfect.

One by one I added all my addons and kept trying, everything was perfect until I got to carbonite. Everytime I teleport to a new location it crashes.

Now the weird thing is if I dont use teleport and travel normal the system works great, but when I teleport I get booted and then can get back in no problem and I am at the location I teleported too.

I have put in a bug report with Carbonite and hopefully they will get back to me about it.

But have you seen this before?

A little boomkin help please?

Do I have any Boomkin nUI users who can lend me a hand?

I've got a user here... http://wowui.worldofwar.net/?p=mod&m=6444 who's having issues with nUI and his action bars and I'm not sure if it's me not understanding him or him not understanding me. I *thought* I had the action bars working right for Droods now, but I'm not sure.

Can someone who plays a drood either explain to me what he's trying to say or explain to him where his point of confusion is?

Any change to this "bug", it's really annoying me that i have to rearrange all my chat windows each time i relog. I usually have 4 chat windows, General, Guild, Personal chat and Combat.

I actually like this UI, but will change for another if this isn't fixed.

I wouldn't call it a bug since it was done that way on purpose. However, the Beta 2 only manages the chat frame and the combat log, so any other frames you have will no longer be affected... you can drag and size them to your heart's content.

I like the "or else" threat. ~smile~

Iljott -- there are a couple of reasons why those four buttons ended up on the minimap instead of elsewhere. First, those four buttons are always present, whereas the others such as the mailbox, looking for group, etc., are transient... coming and going based on need. Second, if I group all of the minimap specific buttons together and try to place them next to the minimap, then they end up either being two rows of big buttons, two rows of not-so-big buttons but with odd looking empty space around them or one row of really small buttons. It just worked out weird.

So... I decided to put them in the corners of the map kind of like rivets. I used the corners because that's the region of the square map that will never have POI icons and such in it because they are outside of the radius and, thus, even though they are sitting on top of your minimap, they're not interfering with the content (much).

I would have preferred they not be on the map, myself, but this seemed like the lesser evil to me.

A little help please...

I've been googling myself into oblivion this morning trying to figure out how to access the blips in the minimap. No luck.

Is anyone aware of any mods that actually modify the raid/party blips in the minimap? I'm not talking about adding new POIs like cartographer and gatherer, nor just changing the texture, but actually does things like show damage or similar actions?

I know the blips have to be accessible as all things WoW are just frames, textures and objects, I just can't seem find any references to what the minimap blips are named or how to hook them. If I can find a mod that does that, then I can work backwards from there.

Anyone know of a mod I can look at?

First off - thanks for the explanation. I see your point to this. I might venture to suggest that you introduce minimap scroll zooming, therefore removing the need for the "+" & "-" buttons (although that might again make the map look weird with just two "rivets".

Secondly, I'm sure you've already done this, but here is a link for the Map mods that everybody has submitted on wowinterface, perhaps something will catch your eye: http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/cat24.html

I'm sorry I didn't really understand your request 100%, so even though I tried going into some of them, I didn't know what I was looking for!
