Problem-Addon doesnt show up on the selection screen

ok heres my problem, i downloaded Fubar and did the usual:
  • download zip folder to interface folder
  • unzip and make sure the right folders are in the interface folder
  • run wow

next is where i run into the problem. i downloaded all the fubar items separately from a different site, and when i ran wow and looked into the addon selection screen, all the fubar addons were there, but not the fubar dependancy itself, thus im not able to use it.

Ive tried many things, including downloading different versions from different sites, and creating a new fubar folder and putting the downloaded items into it.

Any idea how i can fix this?

EDIT: link is http://www.wowinterface.com/download...571-FuBar.html

You've got:

...\Interface\AddOns\FuBar\< files >
...\Interface\AddOns\FuBar_whatever\< files >
...\Interface\AddOns\FuBar_whatever\ < files >

etc?

You've got Ace as well? (The current FuBar on WoWI has Ace as a dependency.)

You've checked and double checked your file path?

There's many similar posts appearing, posting a possible fix here as this seems the less likely
to be because of making simple errors with file / directory structure etc.

So...
Assuming you have followed the usual addon installation instructions, there's one more thing you
could check:

Open up the <addonname>.toc file in Notepad and save it as plain text.
Make sure that there's no special characters (appearing as squares or blank lines) before
the ##Interface: line.
If there are remove them and save the file as plain text.

The Addons button should appear normally if the game can find an addon.
Find an addon = find an addon folder under \Interface\Addons
+ find a .toc file inside that addon folder that has the same name as the folder, and that
it can parse properly!

Example:
\Interface\Addons\FictionalAddon\FictionalAddon.toc

So for starters check the offending addons .toc files and make sure they're not saved as
UTF8 or other exotic encoding, they don't contain special characters (that might escape the parser)
and save them as plain text (copy and paste the visible text content of the .toc file over it if you have to)

Hope it helps

I have this exact same problem and I have been hacking at it angstily for the past couple of days with no success. (And annoying my guildies no end)

I have 12 FuBar modules installed;
They all show up on the /ace list (as loaded mods and under FuBar)

However, about 6 out of those 12 simply won't show up on FuBar itself :/
(*including* the FuBar_ExampleFu-1.2, copied straight from the FuBar directory ... just thought I'd chuck it in there and see if that would load)

The paths are all correct; The toc's are all correct; the filenames are all correct; I have re-saved all the files as plaintext.
I have been through all 12 looking for the missing link between the ones that don't work and the ones that do and drawn a complete blank.

All dependencies are loaded; WoW itself and ACE both can see the mods fine, it's only FuBar that refuses to display them.

I love FuBar ... but ... Help ! T_T
