I added EnglishTeacher to this site and thought I would start a thread to open it for discussion

You can download it here

Basics of what it does:

Text filtering of undesired word/desired word(s)
Squashes CAPS! Leaves Title Case Words Alone.
The beginnings of Grammar logic/correction
Highlights changed text.
Customizable in-game. Add your own word pairs.

Absolutely love this mod! I'm so very glad to see you hosting it here as well.

Any mod that takes this:

"Wut r u gonna do wit dat?" (ugh!)

and changes it to:

"What are you going to do with that?" (yay!)

or takes this:

"OMG! THAT IS SO F***ING GAY!!!"

and changes it to:

"Oh gosh, that is so apple pie fruity, old chap."

Simply rocks, imo!

Updated to v1300.4

- Added a new feature - Enough! - to kill superfluous exclamation points and question marks. (This seems to work okay)
- Added the ability to toggle GrammarCatcher, and left it off by default. Alpha level features will be like this from now on =)

Great mod! I totally love it and will probaly use it for the rest of well forever. One minor little tiny bity thing though.

Did you know that this mod can override the profanity filter? Just trust me and you'll see. This could get someone into real BIG trouble. I got a small slap for it and changed WTF output to What the Heck. Just thought you might like to know. Well later then.

Glad you like it! Newest version is available too! 1300.5 . . . best one yet

Not to worry, the text currently is only echoed to your local client. I am still working out how to send the changed text out into the world of Azeroth.

I actaully know what function it is, I just can't seem to get it to work quite right yet.

Then, we shall see if the filters can actaully be bypassed. I hope not. However, if it can, then that will be an issue Blizzard would need to deal with, as I certainly would not be the only one to create an addon to do so.

I have been receiving suggestions from other sources, so I thought I'd ask to see if anyone on WoW Interface has any for EnglishTeacher. Quite a few have downloaded it from this site, I would love to hear some feedback. Other feedback I have been getting has only made EnglishTeacher better!

Fantastic addon.

I cannot seem to get it to color the changed text, am I missing something?

I didn't see any switches listed in the /et help that seemed to apply.

Okay, this whole addon just started with me playing with lua, the scripting language that the WoW interface uses. I am not a lua expert, though I do code scripts in perl and write XML files. If you find my lua lacking, please inform me kindly so that I may learn =)
