Several people, including myself (JIM), have noticed that the automatic button discovery will occasionally crash World of Warcraft. It closes the program and displays a message similar to the one I have quoted below - thanks go to "Dotts" for copying it for me.

As implied by the bug title, this crash problem has been around for some time.

I seem to have localized it to the EnumerateFrames or GetPoint commands. What this means in English, is that whenever my AddOn uses the Blizzard-provided functions to look for buttons, there is a rare chance that it will break through into information it shouldn't have access to. When it does, a condition that WoW couldn't expect will occur, and a crash results.

I'm looking for a workaround. I have reported this issue to Blizzard. Hopefully they will solve it. I have no doubt that the problem is in the World of Warcraft program itself, so in the meantime, follow this suggestion if you are affected:

Version 1.12.31 of Abacus provided the option to turn the automatic button search on and off. It is off when the green oval shows a white hand (not a magnifying glass). You should turn off automatic searches when you are not configuring Abacus.
