I've gotten used to being able to target something (a mob, a trader, basically anything I can target) and type a short command/hit a key bound to that and having a note written on that location for that target.
Preferably this would merge notes if there's already a note too near the current target (and check if the same target has not already been 'noted'.). However, I wouldn't mind if this were two different commands.
The current MapNotes (A Fan's Update) integrates this NoteTarget functionality.
