HOW TO: Break a Guild Alliance (Guild Leaders only)
I. Prerequisites I.1. You are a Guild Leader I.2. You are logged into World of Warcraft I.3. You are running Inter-Guild Link I.4. Your guild is allied with at least one other guild I.5. The guild you wish to break from is a mutually-allied guild and not an ally-of-ally guild; to break from an ally-of-ally guild, you must instead disable your Ally-of-Ally permission with the sponsoring guild or convince the Guild Leader of the sponsoring guild to break their alliance with the other guild II. CLI Method II.1. Enter: /igl link kick OTHER_GUILD_NAME where: OTHER_GUILD_NAME is the name of the guild with which you wish to discontinue all relay activities III. GUI Method III.1. Open the Inter-Guild Link GUI using one of the methods discussed on the general How To page III.2. Expand the Inter-Guild Link node to display the additional management pages III.3. Select the Manage Alliances page III.4. In the Break Guild Alliance section, use the drop-list to pick the name of the guild with which you wish to discontinue all relay activities IV. Postconditions IV.1. You will be presented with a confirmation dialog that clearly repeats your request and offers to you the opportunity to permit or cancel the action; you must permit the action to complete it before the confirmation expires (approximately 20 seconds) IV.2. Upon successful completion, you will no longer accept any relay activities from the other guild unless they are still linked with another guild for which you accept Ally-of-Ally links (in which case, you will need to disable Ally-of-Ally with the now sponsoring guild or convince the sponsoring guild's Leader to also break from the offending guild) IV.3. If you break your guild alliance with the last remaining (or only) guild in your guild alliance group, you will leave the entire guild alliance group and be left with no allied guilds |
