Stuf is a replacement to StellarUF. Stuf has the same initial layout and feel of StellarUF, but Stuf is highly customizable.



Do not expect much since this mod's purpose is to replace the Blizzard's main unit frames, not other unit frame mods. I'll most likely deny requests to copy random features.

Noteworthy Recent Additions:

  • Option to only show custom text on mouse-over
  • Latency indicator for player casting bar
  • Arena Frames
  • ButtonFacade support for aura icons
  • Option to use Lua instead of text patterns for advanced users
  • Option to save per character


Supported Units:
  • Player, pet, and pet target
  • Target, target of target, and target of target of target
  • Focus and target of focus
  • Party with their pets and targets
  • Arena with their pets and targets (new in v3.1.005)
  • StufRaid - main raid, raid pets, and raid roles (tanks/assist) and their target and target of target (does not and will not support oRA2/CTRA MT/PT)

How to Use:
  • Basic - make sure Stuf_Options is enabled; it's required for initializing defaults and changing settings
  • Options menu - "/stuf" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
  • Hide party in raid - Stuf obeys Blizzard's option to "Hide Party Interface in Raid"
  • Show/Hide elements - many are hidden/shown by setting the alpha or color alpha to zero
  • Slider nudging - (bug Ace3 people for a better way), I do the following:
    1. Move your cursor over the text above the slider, a tooltip should be showing.
    2. Move your cursor up until the tooltip disappears.
    3. Left-click.
    4. Move your cursor back over the slider until the tooltip reappears.
    5. Now you can nudge using mouse wheel.
  • For sliders, you can also manually input values and press enter.
  • Many options, so I suggest checking each option one-by-one
  • StufRaid:
    • Options menu - "/stufraid" or check the Addons tab in Interface Options
    • Basic - StufRaid does not require Stuf, and Stuf does not require StufRaid
    • Special text - install UTF8 to support special characters for the name text sub-string feature

Features Lacking (forever):
  • No profiles, but you can save per character. Profiles would at least double the memory usage (plus more for each profile you create) of Stuf due to its massive saved variables. Check out Reflux to add profiles options to Stuf and other mods.
  • Showing raid instead of party frames when in a party.
  • Advanced buff/debuff filtering for main units.
  • Switching frames when in vehicle
  • Full-featured casting bar (no GCD, breathe, cooldowns, etc)
  • Anything that would really kill performance and lack usefulness
  • Anything for which already has a great standalone mod
  • Anything picky about text that can be done using Lua text
  • Color health bars if mob is tapped

Known Issues:
  • You cannot right-click Stuf's player buff icon to cancel shape-shift forms (ie. druid forms and shadow form) since they're protected now.

Sure, as long as you're not profiting from it . I still suggest making a separate mod so you do not have to keep editing the files after every release. I'm close to one.

It depends on who you target. If you target yourself, you get the dropdown as if you right-clicked the player frame. If this is happening no matter who you target, check for addon conflicts.

For some reason when I right click on my target frame to look at the dropdown menu with Inspect and such on it it doesn't bring up the dropdown menu that it normally would on a target it brings up the one that it would if I right cliked on the player frame for some reason

@griffin224 - if you know how to add them to SharedMedia, you should know how to add them to Stuf. If you do not want to modified Stuf's files, make your own little mod that does what SharedMedia does.

@Qupe - still looking into your issues. I have not fully tested having several groups in a single header. According to your setup in your screen, I believe having one group in each of your 5 headers may fix your problems. Also, "grey" should be "gray". Sorry, that's how they spell it in the states.

Oh, one more query for you. Any easy way to add my textures to STUF? I manually added mine into Shared Media, as I use a couple of the textures other places.

Nope, no groups show more than once. I use one header and show only groups 1-5. Sometimes when it bugs out I also get people in groups not even shown (6-8). I went ahead and and made every other header show nothing just in case it was somehow related (I doubt it is).

I thought the newest release may have fixed other raid members bugging out and showing as offline or OOR but had members other than myself bug out last night as well.

EDIT: Also, for whatever reason (error on my behalf, I'm sure) the text that says offline, dead, ghost, etc... on the target/party frames is messed up. The OOR text doesn't seem to be working; my tag string is this: [grey_if_oor:OOR]"

Just the Stuf file in your account saved variables folder.

Interface Options under Unit Frames. Either delete StufRaid or disable it in the AddOns list.

Hiding Party & Raid Frames

In the description it mentions being able to hide party frames in Raids, just like Blizzards frames can, but I cant seem to figure out how to do so.

Also, How do I hide the Raid frames as well? Do I just not install Stuf Raid?

Still having a minor issue with range fading/status on the raid frames:



Not sure what causes it but reloading the interface fixes it. In the last release it was happening on various members of the raid; with the newest release it only seems to be happening with my own unit in the raid frames.

No buff resizing due to performance reasons. Try to make the best of "My Buff" coloring or use the aura timer bars.

In the latest version of Stuf, in the texture selection dropdown box there is an option for the curved bars. Select them and then go to town with all the other options!

@Strikesout
I'm not 100% sure I know what you mean, but I think what you're asking for isn't possible with Stuf but is possible with XPerl. You're asking for _your_ hots to be made bigger than the rest of the buffs on the target, right? Stuf isn't able to do this to the best of my knowledge, but then again I am only a user of the mod and not the author.
