Nameplates Modifier  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: r20091227
by: Shadowed [More]

Nameplates Modifier is meant to be a simple, well nameplate modifier. This lets you do basic things, such as hiding the cast and health borders and the elite indicators, as well as changing the status bar texture, text settings of level/names/cast bars can be changed including font, font size, font outline, shadow and all that fun stuff. Includes text inside the health and cast bars, that lets you see things such as, time left, current health, etc etc etc.

This is not going to let you change every single nameplate option.

I haven't really used the name plates before, mostly because they're so horribly ugly. This goes a long way towards fixing that, but I still find myself disabling them more than I'd like, and it's because they're so big.
If it's at all possible, I would love an option to scale the entire nameplate. If that's not possible, then how about an option to scale the text (name and level). Right now it's about twice the size of the default size...

In either case - nice addon. Definitely an improvement.

I hate to come off as impatient, but, it's been a little over two weeks now, and I've been hurting without name plates in pvp. You say you want to avoid unnecessary features, but why can't you just, I don't know, remove it when you find a more elegant solution? Like I said, it's not really an unnecessary feature in any case, since a name plate can potentially get in the way of the person you want to click if there's enough people around, and nameplates do tend to move around a lot.

If you won't add a complete disable to this mod, can you make a mini-addon that does it or something? I'm dying here.

Yeah, SS is the prefix I use for my other addons and since SSUI was used for SSPVP before Nameplates, it's not called NameplatesUI or something.

I'm an idiot =/

I somehow disabled SSUI thinking it was some other addon =(

Technically we could make our own casting bars, but we don't get any data except for our targets so we have to check combat log, then you run into issues with positioning for same named mobs, and it just becomes more of a hassle then it's worth.

We can't figure out the difference between a hostile mob, hostile player and a pvp flagged player, only reason that Nameplates PVP can get enemy class is it records it when you mouse over them, but that wont work for PvP flagging.

BlackZam: It's coming back, but need to rework it so the messages make more sense.

Can't get casting bars to show

EDIT: I wasn't able to see the casting bars. Originally thought that the mod created its own casting bars, however after the post realized I needed to turn on WoW's interface option "Show Enemy Casting Bar - Name Plate".

Well, I'll turn this into a feature suggestion then.

I'm wondering if it would be possible to include casting bars on all nameplates, WoW's default one only turns on if they're your current target. I'd also love to see text of the spell name instead of the cast time, as an additional text option.

Also, no idea what kind of control you get over the nameplates, but an option to not show critter nameplates would be nice.

Also, again not sure if you can do this, but an option when "show name plates" is checked in wow options to not show nameplates for PVP targets that aren't flagged.

Red face maybe a bug...

I miss the notification in the chat when I toggle the different nameplate modes.
Please bring that back to the addon.

Couldn't you do both? There are times where there's a lot of nameplates on the screen and you don't want want to click on any of them.

Can only make it disable targetting completely and it wont let you click through for targetting, so looking into it more at the moment.
So why not add an option to make it disable targetting completely?
