Some nice additions over CML. Did Phanx decide not to add some of these features to CML? I know at least one or two of them were on her to-do list...

Anyway, downloaded the file to check out the fonts (talk about that in a sec), and first thing I noticed is that you don't use all of the Ace2 core libs, yet you include them all in the download.

About the fonts... I *highly* beg to differ on SharedMedia not being a source for fonts. Many of the fonts you included are already in SharedMedia, more are in ClearFont2. Through MyMedia in SharedMedia, one can add whatever font they so choose to use in game. I counted 10-12 of your 20 fonts I already have available through SharedMedia. Because of the libs and all of the fonts, your folder size is about 1.5MB - way larger than it needs to be.

edit: oh yeah - and Morpheus is already a default game font.

I don't think it's that she didn't want to ad the features, it's just that SLTimex already had them added. Phanx mentioned being interested in someone taking CML anyways, since she didn't have a whole lot of time to work on it. After discussing it, it just seemed like a win-win situation.

I may do it at a later date...I don't know yet. One thing that turns me off of SML (and the whole MyMedia thing) is that some people don't want to tinker with .lua themselves, and having the fonts included in the base without an additional library support "and" addon (including SharedMedia with included fonts/etc) is just convenient. We'll see.

We've worked at making the instructions for MyMedia as easy to understand as possible. It's really not that difficult. If a user is to the point where they want to start customizing their UI with their own custom files, I think they are willing to do something at the lua level anyway. And most users already *have* SharedMedia for bar textures, etc. I'd just rather not have to load my font into the game twice - once through SharedMedia and once through SLTimex. Or even have 12 fonts in my AddOns folder twice.

edit: Actually, a couple of those I already have in my AddOns folder twice. The fonts I put in the CF2 FontPack started out as a custom font pack for my UI.

IMO, take out fonts that are available elsewhere and leave in those that you have found on your own. Register your fonts with SharedMediaLib, then ask SML for the list of usable fonts for SLTimex. That way you still have access to those extra fonts you have found to include, users can use whatever font they wish from SharedMedia, and they can also select your new fonts for anywhere else in their UI.

Some of the features were on my to-do list, yes. Others I simply didn't want to include, because I don't find them useful myself, and didn't feel they were worth the code bulk to include, or the time to develop and support. I'll update my WowAce thread to link to this... I probably won't drop CML entirely, and in the future may pick it up and do something with it again, but for now I'm just going to officially put it on indefinite hold as far as development goes.

BTW, you can support SharedMediaLib for those who already use it, without requiring it or including it as an embed, and without compromising your ability to include extra fonts for both SML and non-SML users alike.

Yea, that's what I'm working on doing now, and should have ready tonight or this weekend at the latest. I'm just going to embed SML and register all the non-common fonts I've added. That way the fonts included are there (including the default I have), but those with additional SML content can get the most out of the font selection.

I'm momentarily using CML and it made me drop Fubar completly, since i mainly used it to show ClockFu and PerformanceFU.

However i miss one thing from PerformanceFU, though. The option to recylce addon garbage whenever i clicked on it.

Is there an Ace2 command for this (like /rl for reloading the UI) ? Or any Options to get it into this addon ?

Don't get me wrong i like the minimalistic thing on this addon and don't want an overload on new features, but i really miss this one. If there is an ace2 command i'll be happy without such an option, too.

Anyway, nice work there, i'll wait for 1.1 and sharedmedia support.

offset time?

I don't see any mention of it in the description: is there an offset adjustment for the time, so SLTimex on a server not in my time zone can display my local time instead of server time?

That's something I can add to this addon, I'll add it to my list for 1.1

SLTimex actually uses the "date()" command rather than the "GetGameTime()" API call, so it registers the time in comparison to your PC's local time, not the games Server time. I will be adding a Server time feature, but for the time being, it only registers your machines local time.

Excellent, this is the far better version of a texture based clock than CML is.
It is
- editable
- configurable
- placable
without editing the .lua file, calculating coordinates for positioning relative to your screen size.

Updates coming soon:

-Replacing the current Dewdrop GUI menu with a Waterfall GUI
-Removing Tooltip on mouseover (in the future, there will be a performance tooltip that will be optional and will relay Memory usage information on an addon-specific basis)
-New Layouts Option: Default will be "Stacked" (which is the current layout). New will be "Minimal" which will be an inline display only displaying two stats at a time with the clock.
-Optional Stat Modules will include Gold & Mail modules. If there are others people are interested in seeing included, be sure to let me know either via email or use the Feature Request on my portal.

I'm expecting to be able to get 1.12 out this weekend.

I notice is the SS's that theres no background. Is there an option to make the background completely transparent, or am i just missing it somewhere?

Nice mod btw, saved some UI space getting rid of MiniclockFu and PerformanceFu
