DESCRIPTION:
============
MetaMap adds features to the WoW world map, keeping all mapping type features in a single place.
Some features are:

Adjust the map window size.
Move the map anywhere on the screen.
Adjust the opacity of the window & maps.
Saved sets for toggling between 2 map modes.
Allows full player movement, messaging, etc. with map open.
Adds coords to the main map and the Minimap
Adds Instance maps which open to the correct instance you enter.
Default data included for all bosses & locations etc.
User editable notes for all maps, including instance maps.
NPC/Mob database collectable by mouseover or keypress.
Toggling on/off display of unexplored areas of the map.
Boss Loot Tables displays all the loot dropped by bosses, and more.
Waypoint system to guide you to any set point.
Complete Quest logger with optional history database.
Tracker module for gathering Herbs/Ores etc.
NoteBook module for additional notes, linked to Tooltips.

INSTALLATION:
=============
Extract ALL folders in the archive to the Interface\AddOns\ location. If you wish the Instance maps to be populated with default information, then on first installation you will need to select 'Extended Options' from the MetaMap menu.
Select the 'Database' tab, then click 'Load Imports'. This will enable the default import button, 'Import Instance Notes'. Click on the 'Import' button to import the data.


ISSUES/COMPATIBILITIES:
=======================
Some addons may reset the map to gather location data.
If your map continuously jumps back to your current location when selecting another map,
it will be due to another addon resetting it. In most cases the authors have made changes
to correct this so, download the latest version of any conflicting addon.

Added frame level adjust for TitanBar button. Works correctly again now.
MetaMapTRK now saves options seperately for each character.
...(Currently looking at changing the map routines, which is likely to take some time).
...(Thought i'd get these fixes out in the meantime).

Ah, I remember that one. Never actually did it myself.
How very strange for the Quest window to open though. Guess i'll have to go cleanse some flowers to see exactly what's happening there...

You click the plant and a quest window opens asking for the required amount of salve for that plant type. You click ok and the quest is complete and you clean the flower and get 550 xp.

Its basically like your at an NPC with a ? over thier head completing a quest... without ever starting one.

That is a really strange error. MetaMapBLT doesn't use the MoneyFrame at all.
It has always had that tooltip object there, which has never been used in any of its routines. I'm guessing it's another addon which you've updated recently, that grabs Tooltips to add its own information, and is falling over because it's not really doing anything.

However, i've removed that redundant object in the lates version so, let me know if that cures it.

Show Unexplored Areas not saving

since recent update MetaMap does not save Show Unexplored Areas. I always want it on, but every time I log in, I have to reset it now.

Go to the Modules tab in Extended options, and set MetaMapFWM to always load on startup.

Exclamation POIs and NPCs showing in wrong Zones but with right coords.

Of course, gotta open with props. Love this mod! Can't live with out it.

Something has gone south with the data in my knowledge base and POIs. For example when I vew the map of Darnasas I see the POIs of Dark Shore (like Auberdine and Timbermau cave) in it. If I look up an NPC like Keeper Remulos in Moonglade through the knowledge base I find him listed in Dustwallow Marsh but with correct coords for his location in Moonglade. These are just two of numerous examples.

What has gone wrong with my data? More importantly can it be fixed?

I would hate to lose my data by having to purge and reinstall, but I will if I must. At that point I would like to know how I protect myself from having this happen again.

Hmmm, you will need to be a bit more specific here. Firstly, when you refer to 'POI', do you mean the standard map POI or MetaMapPOI? The difference between the two, is that the standard map POI is shown as a little drawing. The MetaMapPOI is a note icon placed over the top of it.

If it is the standard POI, then there is a serious problem somewhere, not related to MetaMap. If it's the MetaMapPOI then, in conjunction with the other incorrect notes, would seem like you are on a German client, who has not ZoneShifted the notes after a name change by Blizzard. If i'm correctly guessing you are on a German client, then all you need to do is shift the data to the correct location by using the ZoneShift module in Extended Options.

I actually found a note you posted (well i am thinking it was you as your titled as the "author" here and posting was from the "author" of metamap there) at ui.worldofwar.net (http://ui.worldofwar.net/ui.php?id=2173) where you described this problem and the german client. I followed those steps and corrected the problem right before getting your response here. The solution you suggest here though seems like it would saved me the loss of all my data though.

Thanks a ton for getting back to me and saving me from the horror of unloading this mod.

Aha! I did guess correctly then.
The ZoneShifting problem is something I will be hopefully changing in the near future. What i'm planning, is something that will check the names for you, present you with the incorrect ones, which you can then assign to the changed zone. Will make things a lot easier for German/French clients. It will also eliminate the need for me to provide an updated Zone matrix each time as well.

ATTENTION!

Seems I forgot to update a variable after a name change in the latest version, which results in an error when attempting to open the new Note Book feature.

Quick & easy fix though, and saves me uploading a new version so soon. Type this into the open message box:

/script MetaMapNBK_NoteBook = {}

Same upper/lower case as shown. That'll sort it.

Get this in the Beta section!

You need to get this mod listed in the BC Beta section on wowinterface. I went in and manually edited the TOC lines and at first glance, everything seems to work fine (including CT_MapNotes interaction). The only problem I ran into so far was with the tab text in the extended options dialog.

Looking good on BC beta!

Well, so far this has all been achieved by good feedback, and looking at all the documented changes. So, not bad going so far with me not being able to actually test it myself.
However, just received news that I shall be receiving a Beta key so, will be nice to actually get on there to check out any remaining issues. Not only for MetaMap, but also MetaHud and MetaGuild.
