cRange
NOTE: This AddOn does nothing if you aren't a hunter.

cRange is a very small Stand-Alone AddOn for Hunters, especially for those with the talent "Sniper Training", to indicate how far away you are from your target.

It displays a bar or a button on your screen that displays your current approximated range.

The config is found in the config.lua

I'm from germany, so please don't mind my mistakes

- Changed default dimensions. Was a bit... wired.
- Exportet config to a seperate file.

- Added a button mode
- Readded 10m indicator
- More options for coloring and so on
Hope there are no bugs. Testet as much as I could

- Most tests are done: Tag as release
- Litte cleanup
- Removed Disengage check (no longer has a range). As a result, the 10m indicator is lost

- Nothing much changed. Check if player is a hunter, playing with some things... Nevermind.

Hi,

You might want to consider using LibRangeCheck-2.0. It provides range estimates for all classes with pretty fine granuality (it uses skills/spells, items and iteract distances). It's a standalone librarary (used via LibStub). Check it out on wowace or curse (or part of RangeDisplay).

Thank you very much for this add-on. I set it up for my Death Knight pretty nicely.

For the warlock, if you plan on using this while you're leveling and you learn a new spell, you'll need to get a new spell id from wowhead.com, search up the spell and rank and the spell id is the last set of #'s in the url I believe. After getting the new spell id, you update ur config file and restart WoW, but only for the spells you are using for range checks.

That would be awesome, cause this is the only range checker i have found that has a graphical bar. I'm not a fan of the "button" ones. I looked at the code to see if i couldnt jsut do it myself, but i think that other classes dont have the range differences that hunters have (i dont have one, prolly wont till i level all the caster clasess). I do know that my lock ranges are 20 and 30 for non imp reach and 24 and 36 for imp reach aff spells. Health funnel (pet heal) is the only 45yd spell i have. If you need any help, im sure i can gather a list of spells and ranges and what not. thanks for at least thinking about it!

im getting an error when i target an enemy:

IsSpellInRange(): Invalid spell slot
File: Interface\AddOns\cRange\cRange.lua
Line: 321
Count: Infinite

from what i can tell, its looking for the spell Throw in my spellbook but doesnt find it? and then checks against a value that doesnt exist when i target something.

i am a hunter, so im not sure how to fix that.

Maybe this is what you mean by button mode, but I prefer the looks of Nudge (which simply has melee=green, range=blue, oor=red backgrounds). I'd like to get the slightly higher fidelity of cRange and hope you'd consider that style.
