Overview

This addon replaces bracketed text typed into a chat edit box with the real chat link. This is the successor to the QuickChatlink portion of Saeris's LootLink. It is a plugin-based system, so each plugin (usually named "QuickChatlink_<source>") handles its own link type (item, tradeskill, etcetera). If you want to grab this addon and all of the plugins created by me at the same time, download the "QuickChatlink + All Plugins" compilation.

To use it, simply start typing a link name, beginning with the left bracket ([). The addon will show possible auto-completions for the currently typed text, which you can accept by pressing Tab or scroll through by pressing Shift-Tab. You can narrow the auto-completions further by typing more of the desired link name, or you can just type the entire link name and end it with the right bracket (]). The addon will try to scroll through all auto-completions in the current link section (for instance, items) before moving to another link section (such as tradeskills), but to skip right to that next section, you can press Ctrl-Tab.

You can adjust the order in which the sections are scrolled through via the "/quickchatlink order" slash command.

Small note: The auto-completion feature cannot work if you begin the link with text already in front of the left bracket ([). However, if you do type the full link name, the real link will still be inserted properly in its place.

  • Added the ability to choose which order sections appear in, via a slash command system. Type "/quickchatlink" for help.

Are you guys running LootLink as well by any chance? I used to get malformed pattern every time, too, but as of the latest LinksList version I no longer use LootLink, and no longer get malformed pattern errors.

Trying to figure out exactly whats causing it. I figured out it's some addons that are enabled with quickchatlinks:
