BLP format plugin for Photoshop, in progress :) |
You've been busy with what exactly?

I've been working on a BLP format plugin for Photoshop, and that was my first successful load. I just kinda got tired of having to convert stuff to a different image format to view/edit it/use it. lol |
That's absolutely awesome :D
I don't suppose this could possibly work for Photoshop 6.0? Newer versions don't like my tablet... |
Plugin now successfully loads all 12 BLP formats - next step will be setting up the save options dialog, and then, of course saving.

At this point, I'm not sure how far back I can go - it all depends on how different, and how available past SDKs are; but I'll do my best. :) |

Nifty! When you're finished (if you choose to release it to the public), we can make sure it's added to this thread: http://www.wowinterface.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=43699

I'll continue to keep this thread updated with any significant progress, and, at least for now, more detailed progress/technical information, as well as specifics on what versions of Photoshop, and which operating systems it will/does support, can be found here. |
Save options are done - including the disabling of alpha bit depth the specific compression type doesn't support. As well as writing the header for the saved file.
Since Photoshop doesn't seem to let file format plugins do much with Photoshop itself, I'm in the middle of tracking down a good library for color reduction, for saving to Indexed (paletted) formats. Hopefully I'll have a fully functional plugin, for at least CS6 for Windows x64/x86 by the end of the weekend. |

yeah...and the Official forums as well :o Oh well, I'll just wait until I actually have something, and I'll do a proper advertisement. :p |
For extra credit, write something that...
Nevermind. Already done. http://www.wowinterface.com/download...0-BLPView.html |
Sounds awesome!

After that? Who knows. One option is to continue making BLP plugins for other image editors, or go back to seeing if I can make any more progress with m2s. |
Both DXT and Uncompressed types are saving correctly :)
(from left to right) Top Row: Original BLP file Middle Row: DXT1/0-bit Alpha (none), DXT1/1-bit Alpha, DXT3/4-bit Alpha, DXT3/8-bit Alpha, DXT5/8-bit Alpha Bottom Row: Uncompressed - 0-bit Alpha (none), Uncompressed - 8-bit Alpha All that's really left now, are the Indexed (256 color) types. |
ran into a bit of a bug - while finishing up the indexed stuff.
Nothing likely to be major although.. Photoshop isn't helping much :p Edit: Issue seems to boil down to "flattened" images - need to find out how to compensate, but otherwise - indexed is working, just need to do 1 & 4 bit alpha support. |
