Mining Addon - Node Detecter

Hello, I searched around and couldn't find anything (Though I might not have searched well enough). But an addon that gives a warning across the screen (Configurable) when a node appears on the minimap would be super-de-duper. Would it be legal? Or if it's already been made, a link would be great =D
