realm status

Could anyone please confirm the status on the beta test realms?

I finally got my beta key to go through, and have installed and patched, but it's not listing any realms at all. I'm assuming that they're down, but don't see anything about it on the forums, and can't post there, since it's wanting me to select a character first, and I don't have a character yet on the beta.... so frustrating.

I just want to make sure they ARE offline, so I can quit worrying and try again later.

I'm on the US one at the moment with no messages to say that they're taking them down yet.

Darn... I wonder why it's not showing me any realms??

When I get to the login screen and choose WoW1 from the dropdown menu, I see no servers listed because Wow1 is the PTR. I don't have the PTR installed.

If I choose Wow2 and log in, I see the Cata beta servers and can log in to them.

make sure you have applied the manual fix detailed in this forum post:

This was said to be fixed, but try it anyway.

Go to your realmlist.wft, which for me is:
Program Files\World of Warcraft Beta\Data\enUS\realmlist.wft

change the line that states:

set portal public-beta

to

set portal public-test

What is this dropdown menu? I have no such thing, unless I'm blind and stupid, (which I will not rule out).

At the log-in screen right under your battle-net account name.

Sigh... realms are down now... probably be another 15 kajjillion gb patch afterwards...

It's if you have multiple accounts.

In this case, if you have a PTR and Beta account, WoW1 = PTR, WoW2 = Beta.
