auras help

first of this is an amazing addon, I was using spartan ui and a ton of other ui addons to make my custom ui. My question is, is there a way to turn of my player and target auras so that i can use a different addon for them. Thank you in advance for any help with this

The answer to that is yes, no and sorta. ~lol~

Yes... because it is possible to turn them off by editing the corresponding [ Interface > AddOns > nUI > Layouts > Default > UnitPanels > {panel mode} > nUI_UnitSkin_(panel mode}{unit}.lua ] and removing or commenting out the ["Auras"] section for either the Player, the Target or whatever other units you want to remove the auras for.

No... because nUI does not support removing the built in features so you can use other mods to replace them... it goes against everything nUI was intended to be. If you want to use a collection of mods to get a custom UI, then use a collection. ~smile~ There's a FAQ for this, actually, at: http://www.wowinterface.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=23943

Sorta... because you can use the '/nui maxauras {n}' command to limit how many auras are shown and could even use '/nui maxauras 0' to turn them entire off. However, that affects the entire UI including the auras in the HUD, HOT/DOT bar, etc. which means you would lose a lot of features besides just the auras. So it is not recommended as a solution, but could be done.

ty for that info. i have one other question, how do i aply one of the layouts. I want to us the nui tribal transformation but i can't figure out where to install it and how to use it after the download. thank you again for any help with this.

Just install it as if it is another addon and make sure it is checked on the addon list before logging onto a character.
