Yes. I'm just reversing the roles of which is the default built in set and which is the plugin... though the aura bars are going to gain a whole bunch of extra functionality that I can't put in the buttons (which is the other reason for the change)

Just wanted to say that tonight I got to use the new 5.0 update in 10 man naxx run and it looks cool. Didn't spot anything unusual with the display to flag up except when I was toggling through the different raid setups I noticed 25 man comes after 40 man. Was that intended or just because it was the order in which you coded ? Its no biggie but thought I would point it out in case it wasn't intended to be that way.

Well after playing with Proximo it appears to be a serious pain as Proximo resets the attachment points every time it updates.

Also the physical size of the frame does not size down to fit in the info panel. This is after setting the font sizes to almost unreadable.

This will take some time for tweaking the settings for proximo and seeing if there is any way around the resetting of the attachment points.

I have a info panel mod going and I am able to hide and display proximo. But I have not solved the sizing, positioning and attachment issues.

No... it's not intentional. The 40 man should be listed after the 25 and for the life of me I cannot figure out why it isn't. Nonetheless, it's on my bug list.

Here is what im talking about.


Also on 10man raid panel you can get BOL/SS/ETC to show up but in 15+ there are no icons in the health bar . Is there anyway to take over some of the space in the raid pannels to take up all of the space down there where the map/photos go? Do you really need a map on a raid? (I use carbonite and usually have it hidden so I dont know)

As a Hunter, yes. I need to see where pats are coming from and how many mobs are around a corner before I go around it etcetera. I use Carbonite too, but it's closed up and off of my screen when I'm raiding.

Okay... lots of things...

I can't move the bag bar over because it is the anchor point Bliz uses for openings bags. So if I move it into the middle, your bags open in the middle and that causes a huge set of headaches. That's why the target aura bars are just above the bag bar. I *could* move the player aura bars up to match, but that would waste a couple of aura bar spaces on the vertical axes and as you already note... that can get crazy, especially if you have a pet.

As for the "too many auras" issue... '/nui maxauras {n}' is your friend. It will limit the aura display to the ones that will expire soonest. I typically use either '/nui maxauras 10' or '/nui maxauras 15' if I have a pet and '/nui maxauras 20' if I don't.

As for using the space where the map is... that can't be done either, because that space is already reserved for the focus frame which most (not all) serious raiders rely on heavily. When a focus is selected, the minimap is replaced by the focus frame and provides critical targeting, health and (de)buff info on the focus... it needs to be large and always in the same place so finding it in a rush is second nature.

As for getting the aura buttons in 15+ man, you should... there's likely a few bugs there since that's brand new code. I'll look into it. However, there is some reasoning behind keeping the player and target unit frames larger as it aids in differentiating my stats from the raids stats, makes targeting the key frames easier for those who use click-casting and provides more real estate for data display. You'll note, however, for the 25/40 man raids, even that had to be relinquished for the raid unit frames... but reluctantly so.

Once I can get the icons back insted of text it wont matter to me if they are even or not, but its just not right at the moment cus they arent level . I dont use your bagbar, I use arkinventory so there is no icon on my screen to annoy me (other than pallypower, but I can hide that in titan if i wanted). As a healer I dont have to look at the map to see whats coming I need to see heals and incoming heals (Is there a way you can integrate that also so it will show incoming heals, it would use a 3rd party lib though but it does make you more mana efficent) Understanably you wont be able to make all the fixes for everyone but as a healer I dont usually set my focus as we changeup healing asign based on the boss and there is just alot of wasted space I can see, but its better than having that AND healbot int he top left corner of the screen. Unless you can make the center section like the infopan. where you could then make diff plugins with diff options? (Dont know if thats possible. Otherwise no performance issues I saw, there were some issues that poped up with tooltips but it might of been a diff addon, 10man everything worked just fine, when we added a few ppl to the 10man raid and it changed to 15man the bol/ss/buffs all went away from the health bar and I swaped to 20-40man and was missing on them all. Its working good for me now and I got rid of an addon =) I dont think my GF noticed anything wrong either. Maly Raid when it changed to the drake figght the drake actions loaded into our petbars/aurabars just fine (was in issue in 4.20 IIRC cus I had a macro to show the bliz fame just incase)

Actually... funny you should mention that... as the center section (unit frame panel) *is* made like the info panel... that's how you can switch unit frame modes like you switch info panel modes.

Unfortunately, the minimap and location are not a part of that and it actually has to stay that way for other reasons. Which means that regardless of the unit frame panel design, it has to work around the minimap and location boxes... though it does have the ability to interact with them (as in hide them when it wants to show a unit frame in their place).

However, when the 5.0 has all the alternate layout capabilities in it, it would be possible to relocate the minimap and location bar to a different place and create more healer friendly unit frame panels... which is the goal. (as well as minimalist layouts, etc.)

Overlapping timers

Scott,

I was one of the few people that rarely had problems with the overlapping cool down timers. Unfortunately, with the 5.0 alpha release, the problem has been introduced to me and I can't seem to shake it.

My Blizzard video UI setting is set to normal, not set to scaling.
My NUI scale was set to .7, but I reset it to 1.00.
After all changes made I used the /nui rl command.

I have tried this with a completely fresh WTF and addons folder. With or without other addons installed, the problem still exists.

My resolution is set to 1440x900.

Any ideas?

btw... I am loving 5.0 raiding features. Great job man!

what happens if you issue '/nui hud scale 1.0'

don't know if this will help you but the easiest way to play around with the hud scale and get it working that I found was to enable the hud for friendly NPC's.(this can be done with kodewolfs GUI plug-in not sure what the command line was for it) Then change it outside of combat so you can see the difference it makes. I only brought it up because that screenshot looks similar to when I had my hud set to small. Hope that helps

I swear I issued that command followed by a reload, at least, 4 times with and without any other addons installed.

I tried it again after reading your post, followed by a reload and it seems to have corrected the overlapping countdown timers.

Everything is fine as long as I keep the hud scale at the default 1.00. I played with .9 - moves slightly closer but does not over lap, .8 - overlaps a little and my preferred .7 - is the first screenshot i linked in the other post. In each case the overlapping increased as the scale decreased.

to tired to look if it was mentioned before (so shoot me..)... But you be happy to know nUI 5 doesn't work with the current ptr build..

Mini map is located at the spot Blizz puts it, no unit frames and some other weird things.

Luckily I guess 3.1 will be in ptr stage for some time so plenty of time left...



(And yes, there was a bit of sarcasme in this post, tiredness does that to me)

It might be my eyes but looking at those 2 images it looks like the bottom line of icons do not scale with the others and hence do not move. I might be mistaken though. But yeah I tend to use 0.6 or 0.7 scale and ended up turning off those bottom line of icons from displaying so I don't have that problem. Although it would be handy.

I still have to patch it but Ive downloaded the ptr now and been awaiting for the chance to copy over some of my characters so I can test things out. One of the things I do is make sure the many guild required addons are still working so I guess this will be one thing I'll notice too.

Scott I posted a screen shot of my UI in the guild forums the other day and got this comment.

"Good god that looks like a damn jet fighters HUD."

I laughed my butt off. Still I love the UI.
